I'm so happy ^_^ But damn all that whining... I hope I never have to witness teamliquid in that state ever again. Yeah, definitely ... the manly thing to do is to obediently and silently eat up any outrageously overpriced crap any SC2 related business might come up with. /sarcasm By raising a shitstorm, the community gave the only appropriate response.

Do they not realize random amateurs are streaming at 1000kbps or better? That HQ is more like 1500kbps? MLGs was 1600kbps, iirc. Even just 800kbps is miles ahead of 500kbps in clarity. Ridiculous. True, I thought the "high quality" stream would be in HD.

I just received the following e-mail (I added bold for emphasis): It looks like still no free vods, but free LQ stream. i really appreciated your post here. thank you. i think their business model is flawed. the matches are likely to be aired/streamed live when its 5:00AM in North America. Basically due to time zone difference, it is hard for them to accommodate all viewers. i think they are better off offering free (but limited) VOD but charge for the live stream. besides, live stream is expensive on bandwidth because you pay extra for congestion.

It sucks that what they consider HQ is only 500kbps and pretty weak. What does that translate to anyways, 480x360?

Let's tell the community we want much more(50$), they will complained and then we will 'listen to the community' and reduce the charge. The community will accept the offer and will pay! They will pay for low quality stream!". I wouldn't be surprised. I sometimes use a similar technique in my sales job, works pretty well especially if you are the only one who has that particular product.

![]() Instead of collaborating and profiting (GSL broadcasted on OGN, Proleague goes on) they decide to keep shitting on each other. I actually feel bad for Blizzard. They had to sign with Gretech because KeSPA was throwing tantrums, now Gretech tries to get their revenge on KeSPA and struggles for power, but in the end it only makes it worse for both SC1 and SC2 ![]()

I doubt it becouse many people could only hear about they 50$ offer, and not get the updated information later on. They also had not updated they site yet.

- Have the Free Low-Quality stream (500kbps) air LIVE. - Have a second airing of the Free Low-Quality stream during the evening in North America. - Charge a ONE time fee ($20.00 USD) for the High-Quality stream and VODs PER season. - This gives you access to High-Quality streams at both airing times, as well as to the VODs and any extra content that my arise. - One-Two months after the season ends, offer HD VODs (ALL of them) to the public for a price of $10.00 USD --------------------------------------------------------------------- On a side note, I would like to point out to all of you, that $20 for an ENTIRE season is pocket change compared to the price of that of a regular season Hockey or Baseball game (depending on your seats and what team of course). You are usually happy to shell out that money just for a few hours of fun, that you cannot relive (unless you brought a video camera yourself). GOMtv charges $20 now (reportedly) for an ENTIRE season, as well as VODs so you can relive all of your favorite games. So to be honest, you have nothing to complain about other than the airing times, and that's understandable considering their main audience is probably in Korea (not to mention its easier on all the staff and players to produce something like this when they are regularly awake : ))

I'm more than willing to pay the 20$ because that's how the quality of the stream will get better and how good casters will be signed long term. Can't really complain about how "expensive" this is and at the same time want esports to become more mainstream I think it would make sense to also offer some package that reairs the games (not live) during good US and/or Euro times and allows access to the VODs
