But I do wish Incontrol would lighten up just a bit with the caster mockery. Even if it's all meant for humor, nobody likes being made fun of. I just feel like its in bad taste to single out people to make fun of them. If Incontrol were to make fun of Europeans, I'm fine with that. But for Incontrol to single out TotalBiscuit on the past 3 State of the Games, that's kind of dickish. I said his name 30 times and "shout craft" in a bad english impression. I'm not saying that that's a good justification, but I think there's another rule that needs more attention, and that's the requirement that applicants be on a team. Isn't the primary goal of this tourny to help expand esports in the west, and (hopefully) expose the scene to the more mainstream audience? I feel like this rule directly conflicts with that, since there is very little chance for anyone new to break into the scene. There are a bunch of very talented nonsponsored players out there who don't attend many LANs or tournaments and play mostly on the ladder. Something like the NASL would be a huge opportunity for them to make a name for themselves, but with this rule in place, what chance do they have to do so? Also, I'm focusing on the only negative that I'm seeing in this whole endeavor. I think that the NASL is going to be amazing, I just hope that all suitably talented players are given a chance to compete. I'm not sure that allowing non-team players in would necessarily help to expand esports in the west and attract a more mainstream audience. The non-team players capable of competing are not exactly part of that mainstream audience. And I don't know how a trend as broad as the expansion of esports in the west could be affected by handful of non-team players making it into a pool of only 50 players.

-JP ''White-ra is kinda selfsponsored, can he play or should he find a team to play for?'' -NASL guy ''You can be the best basketbal player and cry to the NBA they won't let you play, but maybe you should find a team to play for.'' Sc2 is NOT a team game, clans do NOT matter in 1v1 rts games other then getting support and better practice from the clan. There is no reason to force people to be in a clan at all.

I always like'd idra's insight on the show. + he says what ever he wants like Geoff which makes a very entertaining next few days of reading this thread. Because you don't know who will hate Geoff until a few days after the show and this forum spins out of control. Very entertaining. I predict that geoff will say that DayNine wears a funny shirt. Which will lead to world war 5. So big it skips over world war 3 and 4 and makes 5.

Looks like you don't have a clue about professional rts then? Watch at the broodwar scene, starcraft CAN BE a tea game. I can understand both sides, Tylers and the NASL side. Maybe they have to revert or change those rules in the future, but in the current state, i tend to be on the NASL side.

Dude thats so true man, you know what you should do? Get $500,000 and RUN YOUR OWN LEAGUE! yeah. I like this tournament because it will be DIFFERENT then all the others. If they went and just copied GSL exactly i don't think it would be as popular as it could. + they already said there will be ways for people to qualify through open tournaments. I'm very happy with what i've heard about NASL

Why force people to join clans? When the format is not a clan leaque format or anything... People without clans could play in it perfectly fine, so the comparison to the NBA is just stupid.

![]() Busting Total Biscuit's chops over his funny-ass voice and syntax is a running gag. The Haypro thing ... just because we find a discussion funny or entertaining for us doesn't mean they're joking around. I think they were just recognizing and acknowledging that Haypro is a peculiar and strange dude. Still, not a big deal.

No they also have QUALIFIERS FOR PEOPLE without a team. And if WhiteRa can't qualify then he has no right being there anyway. Or he could just Join a team (Which mouz offered him a spot) Its their league, its good. Especially the production value will be awesome. + 99% of pros have a team. Whitera is the only one. Designing a league around 1% of pros instead of appealing to the other 99% would probably be dumb. Just my opinion though.

I was not aware that people without teams could qualify, if so then it's ok i guess. Either way thanks JP&CO for another fun state of the game ![]()
