How is it trashing Haypro, when he is in fact a guy who tends to keep to himself.
Limiting teams to five players is an order of magnitude more stupid than extended series. In TL's case you will end up with a world class player who will not be allowed to compete, by default. For other teams it might not visibly impact the league by having top players being excluded, but it will affect the teams by discouraging or preventing them from bringing on new, maybe up and coming players. I'm guessing that the reason teams in the west aren't as big yet is because of the size of the scene and the money available. Korean teams all have more then five players; there's a lot of benefit to having more players.
I think Tyler's point that you can let team mates play eachother first if you think it's such a big problem, that's also minimizing the problem, but instead they say it's impossible to do that.
If one team has 17 players and those 17 are the best in the world, THEY SHOULD BE IN THE LEAGUE
Also, I don't think it's fair that people without a team can't play in the nasl...I think most people qualifying would be on a team anyway but everyone Should be given a chance to compete. Limiting to 5 players per team is dumb as well; if there's 6 players on a team that's better than 5 players on some other team, they should get a slot. The players that qualify should be the best players, period.
Yeah, the whole "we need teams, we need rivalries, in the NBA you can only play on a team!" thing reminds me way too much of the CGS.
Also, iNcontrol: for someone who's been around e-sports for as long as you have you should be well aware of the track record of e-sports events when it comes to paying out money, it's terrible. It's common for tournament organizers to announce a huge prize pool and then not pay it out. When you make a shitty looking trailer on a shitty looking website, promise 400k and don't mention the name of a single sponsor it doesn't look credible.

The 5 players-per-team thing is a bad rule, but it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it seems to bother others. It basically only effects Liquid. I'm not saying that that's a good justification, but I think there's another rule that needs more attention, and that's the requirement that applicants be on a team.
Isn't the primary goal of this tourny to help expand esports in the west, and (hopefully) expose the scene to the more mainstream audience? I feel like this rule directly conflicts with that, since there is very little chance for anyone new to break into the scene. There are a bunch of very talented nonsponsored players out there who don't attend many LANs or tournaments and play mostly on the ladder. Something like the NASL would be a huge opportunity for them to make a name for themselves, but with this rule in place, what chance do they have to do so?
Also, I'm focusing on the only negative that I'm seeing in this whole endeavor. I think that the NASL is going to be amazing, I just hope that all suitably talented players are given a chance to compete.
A highlight of the show was Incontrol asking "Was there anyone saying stim research time is too short??" with Idra (who complained about stim being such a fast upgrade compared to ling speed) sitting right next to him.
Once again Idra showed his complete lack of knowledge about terran stats (aside form IMBA).
This last SotG made me wonder if part of the reason Idra missed so many standard things in Game 6 vs. Jinro (upgrades he had the evo chambers for, no baneling speed, etc.) because he hasn't been practicing as much. If so, it's a shame he's letting his dissatisfaction with the game prevent him from doing his absolute best; he could've pulled that game out easily at his best and then stood a decent chance on Metal in game 7.

Pause - Resume in my Google Chrome doesn't seem to work. So I tried it again in Firefox and it worked fine. If anyone else is having problems try switching browsers? helped me at least!
Tried in both and both give me over an hour download time. So frustrating!
I think one dominating team might actually add to the drama of the NASL, but I think starting out equitably and having a teams earn additional spots in the open isn't a bad way to start.
The truth is, a lot of teams are underexposed compared to Liquid and EG.

I'd rather see players earning their spots than teams, this being an individual league and all.

Please tell me you're just trolling. Inc didn't KNOW why people were complaining about stim research time. Idra responds by saying that the stim/combat shield timing is too fast for Zergs to handle. How is this a "complete lack of knowledge"
