@Idra you are a player in someone else's tournament, playing to win money provided by someone else. Respect their rules and respect their employees or go play somewhere else. Tournaments and Sponsors are going to make it that simple.

You can bitch and whine all day long about it, but you are not in charge.

Unbelievable that anyone would be so selfish and egotistical. I hope that players like Idra and Naniwa test a major tournament on being rude and get banned and lose any change at a prize. They need to made an example of.

Players dont make money regardless if they cant focus on actually playing the game.

Tournaments should do their best to help players put on a good show. However, there is a very simple solution for players who bitch about their tournament not being a perfect experience: don't play in tournaments.

Unless your conditions at the tournament are different than the conditions set for other players, you have no advantage or disadvantage in your game. Everyone is experiencing the same thing.

You don't see pro football players bitching and whining "waaa it's too cold in the stadium turn up the heat because I might get hurt waaa". No, they play the game because BOTH sides are experiencing the same conditions.

Umm, traditional sports except basketball/volleyball etc have almost always been built around having weather being an element into play since their creation.

Yes, and waiting patiently 5 minutes before a game starts and not spamming casters and being a bitch can also be built into the culture of Starcraft 2. It's not that hard. Really, it isn't. Waiting for a game to start does not cause you physical pain, it does not "punish" you. If it throws players off their game so much, then maybe players should "train" and "practice" the art of waiting 5 minutes. Unbelievable how people are defending these egomaniacs.

And egomaniacs applies to the few players who actually can't handle tournament conditions and have the balls to whine about it. Most players are humble competitors who know that they are guests in a professional competition and are playing for money.

you havent sat in the booth and been in there shoes so dont try to pretend youve walked a mile in them

No, I don't have to be in a booth to know that I would never be a bitch to other human being because of my own emotional shortcomings. Again making excuses for a handful of immature, emotionally unstable players that happen to be talented. There are plenty of other players that are talented that don't act that way. It's like saying Football wouldn't exist without the few bitchy cancer players that plague the league. Yes it would.

were you born in like the sunshine land of happiness and rainbow with parents who perfectly understood you and never fought who sent you to your school (which you got to drive there in your super confy bus downhill both ways) where you went to your class where everyone is friends and noone said anything bad and everyone had there happy lessons then enjoyed some perfectly nutritious and deliecious lunch?

i mean have you never been angry or stressed ever in your life?

Funny you mentioned that because I just edited the post to elaborate on that point:

"I've played sports all my life, and I've been frustrated lots of times. Sometimes games get delayed, sometimes you lose even though you shouldn't. I don't go verbally assault someone or a ref because I'm pissed off though. Can't be professional or humble, GTFO of the tournament."

so do you play some amateur/school league where your palying for betting rights

or are you playing a game that you took a huge gamble on by trying to live your life on it and your ability to keep going on can depend on your results, and being part of a community that will try to tear you to shreds after every loss

these people invest alot of time and effort in palying SC2 and going to these tournaments to do well and they get alot of flack for every single loss

both casters and players are important, the biggest casters and the biggest players are nearly essential for a tournament that wants success on the scale of an mlg/ipl/dreamhack. but players roles around game time tend to be far more sensitive, especially among the biggest players like me, huk, naniwa. and thats not a coincidence. if you're not very on edge and emotionally invested in the game you're not gonna be that good. players have a lot more to lose from these problems and as the players performance is important to the tournament they should be babied.

I agree, I think we should treat you like a little kid because that's what you act like. It doesn't take a lot of effort to not be a dick.

It's apparently too hard for you..

But to the point:
Whats important for tournament IMO: Spectators(streams,live) -> Players -> Casters -> Admins+staff.
All of these are needed for good tournament.

More like people need to stop overreacting over 1-2 tournaments. Their top 3 guys have been very good these past few months. Can't expect them to win it all.
