I'm talking about what Husky said, in relation to how everyone on the internet was 'sensationalizing'. Makes it seem like YoonYJ and Dox, good folks who came forward, are simply stirring drama for attention. Also, no one's asking them to roast Gus. There's enough of that here. It's State of the Game, and I was hoping they would discuss the effects of this situation on the state of the game. Just my own 2 cents of course. Tyler's explained things reasonably. All the people putting a magnifying glass over Husky's words and taking them out of context is a proof of sensationalism in itself. He simply stated he can't comment on the situation because he isn't aware of what happened at PPSL and that he can't take the accusations scattered throughout hundreds of rant-threads as an objective source of information. Taking those words and concluding he's just calling victims attention whores, yeah, that's sensationalism right there. Can't believe anyone would argue that the esports community has a tendency to blow things up lol.

This can be verified by looking at the tournament results. Gus promised him flights to the event. This can be verified by the contract posted on SC2SEA.com and the facebook messages posted directly from Gus's facebook. http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=2699 Gus told him the ticket puchase is being delayed due to sponsors being late with funds. This can be verified once again through the face book messages. http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=2699 IPL released a statement saying that there were no such delays from them (i.e. Gus was lying). This can be verified on their Message to the community thread on TL. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=283544 YoonYJ wasn't sent to the tourney he qualified for. This can be verified from the absence of YoonYJ in the PPSL brackets. I don't see how this is not 100% irrefutable evidence of severe mishandling of an event at a bare minimum, and even if it turns out not to be Gus defrauding the community. Cluster fucks like this need to be talked about. ...are posted ad-nauseum all over this forum as well as all over /r/starcraft, many of them which have even more facts and information than the one above. Yet people are STILL throwing up their arms saying "Wahhh! But it's so hard to follow!!! : (" while claiming all of the accusations stem from hearsay like this: They were saying that throwing out an opinion on an issue flooded with unverified information and hearsay doesn't help anybody. ...Without even bothering to scratch the surface of the information available on the subject.

Whether it is about the legitimacy of the cause given the sparse facts, or the fact that the community was able to raise so much so fast... it seems pretty relevant, and seems like something that could affect everyone long term

Especially since Idra and Demuslim, also threw one match for each other (most likely in something minor, comparable to ESVweekly considering code A spot is handed out in the monthly final, and not in the weeklies), and they will be participating in the GSL who is thinking of disciplinary measures for Coca and Byun (at least demotion from Code S for the first of them). Also, I'd like to note that Idra's cat is nowhere as cute as Byun's puppy! Just to clarify, the GSL handed out NO punishments, as it was not their tournament. Coca agreed to forfeit his spot in Code S as a punishment from the SlayerS team; he was also demoted to their B-team, and is no longer allowed to participate in tournaments or practice in the SlayerS house until the team feels he is ready to compete.

I don't think that Diamond overreacted by suspending them from the tournament at all - What seems harsh now, with western eyes, is the way that SlayerS reacted by making CoCa forfeit his GSL Code S spot and pull him out of all tournaments for the forseeable future. I think it's important to realize, that from a Korean perspective, CoCa betrayed and put shame on not only himself, but also his team and his sport - Yes, this seems harsh with western eyes, judging by scale of the incident, but there are some cultural differences that come into play here, that everyone has to be aware of, before going "SlayerS overreacted - CoCa is just a kid"

Demuslim even talked to the admin and asked them if it would be ok.

It's time-out and restart, not a life ban. I mean, it's like the very core principal of nearly everything in life.

But if you look at other sports (hockey, baseball, basketball, football, ect...) teams suspending players for things they say/do is common place. Its not that surprising, considering how e-sports is much more developed and organized in Korea than anywhere else. Its probably better to compare the actions Korean e-sports teams with that of Western sports teams.

SC2 is still young and growing in Korea, a match fixing scandal would destroy it before it could get established. That's why they have to give out harsh punishments for even the least offensive match fixing to discourage that kind of behavior and let fans know that they are trying to keep SC2 competitive.
