Great job from both parties. I think the issue is more that it's kind of rude to choose a name that's nearly identical to another well-known show that came before yours within the same community.

I'm not sure what TL's position is on this issue, or if they should take a course of action. Now just as Martijn asks everyone to not associate them with glhf.tv, i'll ask you to NOT associate them with the whole italian starcraft community. I can't understand their Italian commentary, so I can't judge that. We do appreciate what they try to contribute to the community though. It's the constant confusion and misleading people we have an issue with and that comes up every time. Their content is added value to the community so thumbs up, their brand however is harmful to the community and most of all us obviously. On July 05 2010 16:33 StErMi wrote: I never talked about it. At first they were doing Italian commentary, at which point why would we care seeming there's no mistaking right? But now that they're doing English commentary every single time they open a thread people think it's us. They've completely ignored our email however. A lot of people keep asking if we're related, no, in no way, shape or form. So please, please don't be mislead by their "glhfinbox" donation address, it is not us. Martijn, I understand your frustration but consider this: 1) glhf.tv went public in march (or even early april?), glhf.it in april. So you can hardly claim they copied your name. 2) glhf.it is quite clearly a site that stands on its own. It's been frontpaged on quite a few popular sites and promoted a fair number of high profile initiatives. 3) you can't really choose a name like "glhf" and then complain if someone has the same idea. It's a risk that comes naturally and that you should have accounted for. You both have fantastic sites with amazing content and you both serve and promote the SC2 community so well. I believe it would be in everybody's best interest to just stop having childish arguments that really serve no purpose other than tarnish your own reputation and, instead, work together. One quick note for Ganondorf: man, I have no idea who you are and what the deal is between you and glhf.it, but your posts really come across to me as some sort of personal grudge and not as good criticism.

I like it but 1 tip.. MAKE SURE MICROPHONES OF COMMENTATOR/INTERVIEWEE ARE ABOUT THE SAME ON VOLUME. I really hate to have to turn my speakers up to hear the interviewer, and then have to turn it down again cause the interviewee is talking way to hard .. get my point?

Honestly, this isn't even up for debate. Someone saw it and went "hey, that's clever". Man, of course it's up for debate. Personally, I found out about glhf.it before I ever heard of glhf.tv, which is why I find this whole argument quite funny and also why I bothered posting at all. Now, please realize I am not necessarily saying that you are wrong: I am just saying that there are definitely chances that you might be, though, and your stance on the issue, in my very humble opinion, should reflect this. On July 05 2010 20:21 Martijn wrote: So how do you explain it coming up every single thread? We're not bringing it up, they're not bringing it up. Yet every time someone gets misled. It comes up because, obviously, IT IS confusing. The problem is that I don't think it's glhf.it's fault, it's just the combination of two sites choosing a very obvious name like glhf. It doesn't help that you chose the "tv" domain and they chose, being italian, "it". Just live with it mate, I think the IQ of the average SC2 player is high enough to distinguish between the two sites (or at least mine is, and I am no genius). I believe you mate, but really, perhaps you could go the extra mile and just accept you guys can coexist peacefully and maybe even benefit from each other. Behaving like this in understandable but it is also quite ugly and depressing to see two nice sites fight like this over their name.

Yeah its very similar, and a bit confusing if you never heard of the names. And in my personal opinion, just let eachother co-exist. I remeber having a small discussion on the GLHF.tv thread of others asking GLHF their ustream setup, and they didnt want to give it out because they were afraid they would lose viewers to them. Almost sounding like that the video quality of the stream was the "only thing that they had going". That people would leave instantly because theyr commentating was bad, but their video was good. No bashing or anything, just let eachother co-exist. If you do good commentary, you have nothing to fear.
