But I can load YABOT right now, is that possible without having the latest version of teh beta client installed?
It depends on the custom map, some of them require you to be at a certain patch.
You can tell what version you have by the highest numbered "base" folder in your versions folder in your SC2 directory. Patch 16 is "Base15655".
Patch 12 is 15343, I think.

I found it easier to put in a "move c2-patch.mpq [SC2 path]" after renaming. Then you don't have to remember which patch you've already done. They get moved and deleted. Of course then you have to change the two last lines so they contain the complete path (which probably is different than mine below), and the patcher.bat needs to be in the folder that contains the patches.
ren %1 sc2-patch.mpq move sc2-patch.mpq E:\Spel\"StarCraft II Beta"\Support E:\Spel\"StarCraft II Beta"\Support\"Blizzard Updater" del E:\Spel\"StarCraft II Beta"\Support\sc2-patch.mpq

I can't load YABOT at all. The loading bar doesn't move. I patched up to 16. First time when I only patched the GAME-files YABOT worked but I the keyboard didn't work (shortcuts and bindings).

I've been out of town for the last week, is the second phase actually up yet? My game is showing a version of the game thats not compatible with the current version or something, I want to play if it is up...

Did you delete the Battle.net.MPQ?
If so, then my guess would be because you did it out of order.

TL + Google rocks!
I think I have the latest version installed now. Thanks everyone!

i patched and got my game corrupted, think the order if installing the patch files matter (there are multiple files per patch)
|
a google search yielded this order, testing now: 1 part 1.download the patch 2.rename *-enUS-bnet-base to sc2-patch.MPQ 3.place the sc2-patch.MPQ in support folder 4.run Blizzard Updater.exe
2 part 1.rename *-enUS-bnet-bin to sc2-patch.MPQ 2.place the sc2-patch.MPQ in support folder 3.run Blizzard Updater.exe
3 part 2.rename *-enUS-game to sc2-patch.MPQ 3.place the sc2-patch.MPQ in support folder 4.run Blizzard Updater.exe
4 part 1.rename *-enUS-locale to sc2-patch.MPQ 2.place the sc2-patch.MPQ in support folder 3.run Blizzard Updater.exe

Starting off a clean installation here's what you do:
1.Download all the patches, make sure you get the right ones for your os and region.
Patch mirror: mirror 1
2. Manually patch the game yourself by doing the following: (copied from battle.net forums, unaware of source)
"For each file in each patch, do the following: 1) Move/copy the file to the Support folder in your install folder. 2) Rename it to sc2-patch.MPQ 3) Run Blizzard Updater.exe 4) Delete sc2-patch.MPQ"
Do this for every file in every patch. Each patch must be done in order. If you get an "unable to patch" message then you've messed up the order somehow. Make sure you update patch 12 before updating to patch 12.1, lots of people were getting stuck on this.
If you want to make it easier on yourself then do what nyx said:

After you've done all that try to run your custom maps, replays, whatever. If it doesn't work then you need to follow scientia's advice:
On July 03 2010 22:03 Scientia wrote: For those of you having it freeze on you while loading after having it patched, it's the Battle.net.MPQ (in your Battle.net folder) from patch 13 that breaks it. Just delete it/move it somewhere else and it should be fine. =)
These are the exact steps I took and now I can run custom games, galaxy editor, etc.

I see different files in my downloads. Should the file I am renaming be the base, bin, game or locale?
|
You gotta rename all of them, and update one by one. Rename *base, update. Rename *bin, update...and so on. There're a couple bat files posted earlier to make it easier.

I tried multiple times to manual patch a fresh install, but on patch 13 I get errors, and the screen remains black when I try to load. This took a good 6 hours of my time, so I gave up.

i had the same problem! but it sounds like too much work i'm just gonna wait it out until the beta restarts

That happened to me, and it turned out that I was updating patch 12.1 before doing patch 12. If that's not the problem then there's nothing you can do about it because the only solution is to patch 13 errors involves connecting to euro bnet servers.

Patches 1 all the way to 8.
*facepalm*

I was able to patch all the patches on the link (up to 16). But now when i start the game i only see the spaceship flying, and there are no buttons or fields to enter my login information. Any tips on how to solve this?
I use windows firewall, but have allowed it to go through on the popup, and also manually in the FW software...
Apparently this has not been an issue for many people except some mac-dudes, and they solved it by rebooting (which ive tried, and i have a pc).
Gonna try with a disabled firewall now, and if that dont work, update gfx drivers.
All this happens when running sc2.exe, if i drop a rep on the .exe it stops on a black screen with only the sc mousepointer, nothing more...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
