"First, you need the patch files. You'll likely need to grab them from a mirror. See the above post for a list. Now for the tedious part! Make sure you do each patch in order. For each file in each patch, do the following: 1) Move/copy the file to the Support folder in your install folder. 2) Rename it to sc2-patch.MPQ 3) Run Blizzard Updater.exe 4) Delete sc2-patch.MPQ. It shouldn't matter what order you execute these files within each patch version. It's VERY important, however, that each patch is done in order and that you don't miss a file in a patch. If you don't know what you're doing, make a post in the forum about your issue. We'll try fixing it some other way. " I did this and it did patch my game, but I'm still unable to load any custom games. I think it's a problem with sc2 on my end though, because it was happening before I reinstalled the beta. Basically when I start sc2, a little box with the logo appears on my screen. At this point the game usually crashes. If it makes it any farther it'll crash once sc2 is loading up a map. The progress bar won't advance at all.

The new patch that will be released upon phase two will wipe all other patches if i remember correctly so this reason alone is something you should overlook. I also have the same problem with the small box appearing and just standing there on the middle of the screen for several minutes before it crashes, kind of wierd as this was never a problem before I uninstalled it :\ If you find a solution to this, please post it here ![]()

There is a second method, however since the EU Server is down I dun know if it works. U can pre-download all the patch and unzip them into the update folder in the main Starcraft II Beta directory and replace the realmlist.stf (US Version) file in the support folder with the EU version of that file and normal launching the game should patch the files without having to download it. But this method requires the EU patching server to be up

Yep u have to rename each file to sc2-patch.mpq, one at a time, and use the updater for each file Missing one is not an option

Basically you right click the realmlist.stf file and save it to the support folder, then launch SC2. It will patch the normal way via the EU servers. However, each time it does this, it rewrites the realmlist.stf file as US, so after each patch you have to re-save the EU one. It's weird because for me it isn't loading the patcher at all, it just straight proceeds into loading the unpatched sc2.exe. And i think i am doing it right: - I got a clean install - I put the realmlist.stf file into the support folder (C:\program files\SC2 beta\Support) - I run the starcraft2.exe from my desktop Maybe that only works with the US client or something?

You can tell what version you have by the highest numbered "base" folder in your versions folder in your SC2 directory. Patch 16 is "Base15655". Patch 12 is 15343, I think.

Then you don't have to remember which patch you've already done. They get moved and deleted. Of course then you have to change the two last lines so they contain the complete path (which probably is different than mine below), and the patcher.bat needs to be in the folder that contains the patches. ren %1 sc2-patch.mpq move sc2-patch.mpq E:\Spel\"StarCraft II Beta"\Support E:\Spel\"StarCraft II Beta"\Support\"Blizzard Updater" del E:\Spel\"StarCraft II Beta"\Support\sc2-patch.mpq

1.Download all the patches, make sure you get the right ones for your os and region. Patch mirror: mirror 1 2. Manually patch the game yourself by doing the following: (copied from battle.net forums, unaware of source) "For each file in each patch, do the following: 1) Move/copy the file to the Support folder in your install folder. 2) Rename it to sc2-patch.MPQ 3) Run Blizzard Updater.exe 4) Delete sc2-patch.MPQ" Do this for every file in every patch. Each patch must be done in order. If you get an "unable to patch" message then you've messed up the order somehow. Make sure you update patch 12 before updating to patch 12.1, lots of people were getting stuck on this. If you want to make it easier on yourself then do what nyx said: On July 01 2010 03:31 Nyx wrote: I wrote a batch file for doing this. I use windows firewall, but have allowed it to go through on the popup, and also manually in the FW software... Apparently this has not been an issue for many people except some mac-dudes, and they solved it by rebooting (which ive tried, and i have a pc). Gonna try with a disabled firewall now, and if that dont work, update gfx drivers. All this happens when running sc2.exe, if i drop a rep on the .exe it stops on a black screen with only the sc mousepointer, nothing more... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The mpq is already moved and renamed, by the way. And how to i get to patch 17/18? Just found up to 16 in the links here. I was able to launch a game with the rep manager, but im still unable to view reps for some reason... When pressing the start replay button in the manager it simply shows some popups and then nothing happens... Edit: With patches up to 16 im now able to play a v.13 rep at least... Edit2: Ok all works now, up to reps at patch 16 at least. Too bad artios' pack is at 17...
