Maybe Activision is all behind this? Just imagine, Chat client DLC only for 5$, buy now and you get a free chocolate gum, and a slap in the face. This can't be seriously Blizzard, not the Blizzard we know.

hahahhaahha - that just made me laugh. Keep going like this with ur "full-featured platform" (IS THIS A JOKE?) and u will see how many people would like to play there. U are saying that creating the comunity is ur priority - when in fact u dont do anything to allow this comunity to even exist. How do u expect any comunity to emarge when there are no chat rooms? THIS IS SO F***IN RIDICOLOUS !!!!!!!!!!

Charging for maps would be the next step. I personally believe that a full game should include chat channels.

Read the ToS, you can't host any e-sports without Blizzards written consent Does anyone know if any emulators are even still being written? IIRC most of them got shut down :/

This can't be seriously Blizzard, not the Blizzard we know. Thats what Ive been thinking all along too ![]() But then came the truth about MW2 I loled because I knew where it had been heading :/ .15€ for a Mappack with 2 new maps and 2 ports ... and people still bought it ... actually way too many :D. Thats the problem people/casual players with too much money are ok with such a treatment and still give them their money. Well Blizzard is trying to turn Sc2 in a cash cow like WoW or MW2 too :>. I'm really curious what options theyll implent to get more money out of the players pockets. I guess could care less about most of them - New Unit Icons / I dont care - New Unit Colours / shrugs - New Portraits / whatever - New Name / I rage - New Maps in the ladder / I rage quit - Extra money/monthly fee for cross-server support / Im done with Blizzard. I think people should start to see failnet 2.0 for what it actually is. First of all It is NOT a gaming platform . First of all it is a platform to turn Sc2 into a cash cow.

what the hell is going on in their minds? they have this fancy shmancy facebook feature connection web 2.0 social network super duper support but they don't consider people want chat rooms? WHAT? and to the topic of the leagues system i can only say what i said in the Gibybo thread: if blizzard is too dumb to make their own comprehensive ladder system/overview Gibybo shall keep his ladder site with 500k pageviews or what until May 22, have some ads and =>profit oh wait maybe blizzard then comes and says this was copyright infringement and he has to pay them 50% of the profits, yay

Honestly, I'm at this point where this makes me sick to my stomach. What kind of dbag do you have to be for people to have to BEG you for a simple chatroom system? Even if they end up giving me what I want, NEVER again will I tell people that Blizzard is a good company. Blizzard is a company with an incredible capability of making good (profitable) games. At everything else, it's pathetic. This is EXACTLY what happened with the PC version of MW2. Infinity Ward doesn't give a damn about their customers, nor does Blizzard... They can screw us over a thousand times and we'll still buy millions of copies. Infinity Ward could have decided not to completely ignore the modders community. They could have decided to make dedicated servers possible; it's very easy and cheap. They went out of their way to make the game LESS appealing because it was perhaps a strategic decision. Likewise, Blizzard could throw in a chat system and LAN and all that jazz, but they because obviously they'll make a couple more bucks in the short term by going about it that way. They'll just take the dollars instead of building up an even bigger fanbase BY ACTUALLY RESPECTING THEIR FANS AND CUSTOMERS. They choose instantaneous profit. This may make sense... Though I doubt it, maybe f'ing their customers over IS the best decision when the primary goal is to take as much money from people as possible while spending as little as possible. However, that slight possibility doesn't keep me from being angry with what the end product is going to be. They make excuses like "we won't throw LAN into the game because we want people to play online, we want to form a community..." and then "no chatrooms". How does that freaking work? Cognitive dissonance much? How are you going to form a community on a pathetic platform which aims to make it impossible to talk to a person without knowing the exact length and width of their junk. Community my ass. Little parties with largely people I already know and have learned to quietly despise are *NOT* community. Groups of people who play together are nothing more than groups of people who play together. What if I feel like playing in LAN with my friends? I have to send data to b.net and back to play with the guy that's right next to me? Why? Because you want to form a community? So, instead of giving me choices - instead of throwing in a LAN mode so I can play how *I* want to play, I have to go by YOUR restrictions? See, "not putting LAN" and "not putting chatrooms" are restrictions that you basically have to actively get to. You nearly go out of your way to say those functions won't be in the game for some wacky reasons. The cake is there, but we can't touch it because, well, Activision is a big tease with a lot of money and it has us by the balls... The cake is a lie.

I mean I'd hope in Wait... Also, I didn't mention it above, but the whole paying for a username/"unlocking" usernames thing is the most utterly retarded shit I've ever seen, and would not buy the game solely because of it. There are plenty of other ways to spend my life than to reduce myself to such a low level to even participate in that. I'm not going to willfully fund retardation in the world.
