To give you an idea of how huge that is, I've been looking forward to Starcraft 2 for over a decade, drawing sketches and models to try and imagine Starcraft 2 in 3D. However, I just can't be a part of this milking of Starcraft fans anymore. I can see the direction this is taking, and it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth, I'd rather get my entertainment elsewhere.

Starcraft 2 beta was going to be released summer 2009, I remember I and everybody was super excited: 0:39, here's HDstarcraft being hyped for example, i remember there was an NDA etc) Then it was delayed because bnet wasn't finished. so they worked on bnet 2.0 for half a year. What did they have as bnet summer 2009? it couldn't have been non-existant, no one plans to release a beta if there isn't a platform to play it on. It couldn't have been a mistake to forget that "woops we forgot to make bnet". Somewhere they decided, "no let's make bnet like this instead".

But with all the issues discussed here, i think this game is developed just to squeeze out money. Maybe not right now from the beginning, but as time goes on. Im really getting angry about the people defending blizzard/activision. I mean, they are a big company. They know what they are doing. There is no way that they thought chat isnt so important. There is no way that they thought, people werent getting angry about no lan/no crossrealm play etc. And they pulled it off anyway. Because they can do. Because this game will be sold millions of times. Because most of the people dont care. Really makes me sad that they are getting away with this 100% agree preorder canceled waiting for crack in the first week t play singleplayer waiting for crack to play lan / cracked server for (maybe long) time if there wont be cracked servers / lan option, who the fuck cares... not so much time wasted. sc2 would be the first game i would have bought since half life 2 (incl. tf2 etc). but we dont want chat channels? ofc we dont but so you fuckerz dont want our fucking money!

I would also like to know if there is a way to do this. I would like to let them know that I am not buying the game and why.

They're simply being disrespectful and overgreedy on the players and I can't accept that. 1 star @amazon for sure. I agree and already canceled my preorder Join the club dude, when SC2 was announced I was really pumped. When I was 14 or so, I qualified and was given an invitation to go to CPL for War3x in Texas, my parents told me I was just too young to play pro yet. When SC2 beta was announced, I started massing games since patch 4 or so. To date I have roughly 3100 games players of all types but mostly 1v1, watched every day9 daily since sc2 was being showcased there (back when he was looking @ CowGoMoo's Terran play with sharing tech structures,) I've been in a couple showcased matches on the streams, watched ITL, HDH, the TLI, Altitude, been in countless craft cup and zotacs. This whole story since it dropped, I've bleed my soul into watching it develop and posting my opinions, and now I'm just disgusted. I don't know if I want to even try to make it in a Blizzard environment. Playing a game turning out like this feels like it would be a disgrace to the community almost, which is pretty sad.

Don't think I'll buy it with these conditions. For me, the main problem in all of them is the lack of LAN play. It surprises me that with the objective to make the "Ultimate Esport Experience" ever, they take away LAN play. Training with friends in 0 latency games is fundamental. Not to mention tournament organization as Husky well pointed out. And the excuse: "piracy"!? Piracy will happen with or without LAN support. It is inevitable, Neo. Really disappointing.

PC gaming forced into a regression with massive feature cuts even by developers like Blizzard who think WoW subscriptions don't make quite enough money. The thing is... Blizzard made a top notch game and a (by comparison) top notch platform 13 years ago when they were actually relatively poor.

In any case, when 2.0 reaches their expectations, they'll buy the game and totally forget every single piece of trash they typed out on forums in a fit of rage. Sad, really. So quick to pull the trigger instead of sitting patiently. Theres more going on behind the scenes, I'd wager, than Blizz has made public. So calm down, go ahead and cancel your preorder in "protest", ill see you online a few months after release.

The hardcore of the hardcore seem to be the smallest portion of the pie to please. Probably because they're the ones with the highest, almost ridiculous, expectations. Expecting Battle.net 2.0 to have at least as many features as Battle.net 1.0 is your definition of "ridiculous expectations"?

In other news white knights are just trolling. Rage is just people wanting the sequel to their favorite game not to suck, it's drawing dangerously close to release and all indicators point to Bnet 2.0 = huge fail.

Exactly, trust me you don't have to an "Hardcore" fan/player to expect the most basic functions from Bnet 2.0 when they were in the original.

It's the hardcore that kept the game alive for so long, is it really too much to ask for the same features that were already in Bnet 1.0 and which clearly almost everyone wants back in Bnet 2.0. Without the hardcore you wouldn't even have tournaments, decade old updated community websites, so I'm wondering... what the fuck are you even doing here since you're amongst the hardcore.
