For all of You wondering how the patch will feel in a high level game i propose watching + Show Spoiler + MLG King of the Hill Series - Slush vs Qxc. Its obvious that given time possible solutions will be found. But that losses were ... total is a good word I guess. In the end Day[9] we all love and respect told that when looking at a maxed zerg army it looked/felt 120-140ish.
If that is to work, I believe zerg needs some other 1 supply unit. Possibly buffing roach further (just like when beta was released) and nerfing hydras a little for a total zerg remap ... but that would feel really BWish

Am i stupid or is it new that Roaches or Hydras got new Animations on attacking if they are CLOSE Range to a Target? Try to put them as close as possible to a Target and attack, they attack with MELEE Attacks instead of shooting... lol i never saw this before actually.

Pretty sure it's been like that for a long while (hydras at least, didn't notice roaches).

Yeah, Roaches have been melee'ing close-range stuff for a while now.

If you were making an all roach army before.
The change is really an early game nerf; once they implement the Ultralisk buff Zerg will have a late game tank. The only problem I have right now is that Roach is such a lost unit. Why does it even have a worthless hive-tech upgrade?

proposal: roaches need to be moved to tier 2, but given +2 additional armour and a little decreased damage, so they fill their role as a tank. plus free burrowed movement. hydralisks get moved to tier 1 but get their damage reduced a little, while their upgrade stays at t2, gets a little increased cost (like 50 minerals, 25 gas more) but also increases the hydralisks damage back to normal.

Roach needs to be one supply, no armor, with burrowed regen not an upgrade (and ESP not at HIVE tech o_O). Then it will get back its place in the game as a not OP, micro-intensive unit.

with 4 roaches having more HP than one ultra, id rather have roaches as hive tech and ultras at lair -.- big gas saver, too

I like this idea, though any air units deployed against zerg are going to get utterly destroyed. No more void ray rushes for protoss.

Decent Ts I've played are already owning up with tanks, it's getting super hard. I see no use for roach until midgame, mostly when I go muta (easier than hydra on gas). Soo useless atm.

Move ultras to T2, cleave + new ability they are getting are upgs at hive. Infestor is T3, but gets some major buffs.

prior to that i coount not view some other ppls matchlist, but now i still cant view some others matchlist and how my own aswell

anyone who wants to see these changes in action watch the MLG KOTBH with Slush vs qxc, at 200/200 it was a complete joke. Not to mention Slush could barely handle the early game harass. It was quite sad compared to his performance vs cauthonluck last week.
I'm not saying this is a large enough sample size to deduce the change is completely bad, but at this moment it seems pretty detrimental to myself and other zerg players.

Surprisingly for me, the Thor change is super awesome. It no longer feels like a massive expensive hulk of a unit. It feels like a nice Terran unit which makes me so happy.
