I can sorta understand where the forge build time nerf is headed, trying to scale back cannon rushes. But the forge HP nerf mystifies me. All it does is weaken forge FE a bit, making one base play even more attractive and thus making Protoss as a whole more stale and unattractive.

the new thor change seems really interesting, those guys will be much more powerful now that they aren't too fat to fit through doors xD

ZvZ is still roach v roach post change as those games rarely reach 200 food limits. I guess roaches are slightly more expensive since you have to churn out a couple more OL's but I've already done a few ZvZ's today and just stuck with my old general strat ( build roaches lol ) and won them all(in the 1400-1600 range in plat ).

I'm really perplexed by the change because I seem to recall watching my roach heavy 200/200 army get crushed by terran and toss armys ( if they had large amounts of aoe ). So I'm not sure where Blizzard is getting their info that 200/200 roach armys are imba. I already tried to avoid 200/200 fights at all cost as zerg because I usually lose miserably if my opponent as massed aoe dmg ( tanks,collosi,storms ). Either way its not really a big nerf imo, in the 20ish games I've done today it really hasn't changed anything other than I have to build OL's more often and getting supply capped a couple times due to a change in timing.

That's sth that's been bugging me A LOT about how Blizzard does their balance-changes: So much is just in regards to some imba-noob-bashing cheese-rush. Want some examples?

- SCV-Nerf: Just because of the SCV+Marine-rush
- Marine-build-time-Nerf: Just because of the SCV+Marine-rush
- Marauder Concussive-shell-upgrade: Because of early Marauder-rush
- Forge-Nerf: Cuz of Cannonrush
- Queen speed off creep-nerf: cuz of queen-rush/cancelled-proxy-hatch into creep-tumor into spine-crawlers-rush
- Dark-Shrine-Nerf - cuz of DT-rush
- Warpgate-Nerf - cuz of IMBA 4-warpgate-rush
- Roach-nerf - cz of IMBA roach-massing

I just don't feel like Blizzard really has a good grip on the game when you look at stuff like that...

Not to say that the Forge change was urgently needed, but I think it was not a "waaaay off" thing either. I mean... I've been forged rushed several times by people doing all kind of crazy cheese crap (what i consider cheese anyway... someone else might call it brilliant). I definitely don't mind.

edit: by forge change i mean the build time... not the hp... i don't really agree with that one.

Ya, because drones are so important in Mid Game Fights, they tank the splash DMG of Tanks you know.

As a Terran player, I must say the roach nerf is totally ridiculous. There were plenty of ways to deal with roaches. This nerf was completely unnecessary and ill-advised. What is zerg going to do to fill this void. Banelings are great, but still some actual meat to win. I hope Blizzard realizes how bad this nerf is. Zerg players, I feel for you.

Yeah Marauders & Immortals completely annihilate Roaches... This was pretty much just done for ZvZ I'm guessing, but it probably won't change it... Just slow down the roach production a little bit.

Nope, not since the Raven nerf last patch. HSM was severely nerfed last patch. NP was buffed because you can now NP air units. I stand by my words: THE INFESTOR IS THE BEST SPELL CASTER IN THE ENTIRE GAME
