I think I speak for everyone when I say FUCK BLIZZARD.
That is all.

I think its kinda cool. It worked pretty well on the Xbox live for finding friends. Ok they may not be people you speak to everyday but to me it has more "meaning" than the ranking against random people in the division.
Not sure if I want all my losses being spammed up on facebook though... :D

lmao I think this actually will do good for the game to have it integrated if it's done well as long as it simply connects you up with your other FB friends who own the game, I don't want it broadcasting every win/loss, but to connect up and instantly have everyone I know who's also playing SC added to my friends list in game will be good, allowing for casual players to connect up and play games with their friends more easily.

The game having Facebook integration: Don't really care. It was bound to happen.
The game not having chat channels, clans, cross-region play, 2010 latency quality, and group replay watching because they were too busy implementing semi-Facebook features: Screw you Blizzard.
Good to know that I can add my European friends to my Bnet friends list. Too bad I can't play with them since I live in the US.

yipee.
QFT Also, are the masses of facebook addict casual gamers really going to stick to a RTS, even with the noob friendly features of SC2? I highly doubt it. RTS is an elitist genre to begin with, IMO.

There's no way for them to link your b.net and facebook accounts unless you manually do it. And it would be far too ridiculous for them to require you to have a facebook account to play SC2.
However, I do foresee some incentive to get you to link your accounts. Like "Recruit your friends over facebook and get extra ladder rested points!"

I wonder how complicated it is to make a chat channel. I seem to remember these being around back in ooooh 1998 I wonder what people like you are thinking about when making this point. You guys must have some kind of point since I see this same thing posted all over the place. Has Blizzard ever said "Oh man, chat rooms are so had to program, let's skip that and make this huge new RTS game engine". Blizzard has reasons, which we can only speculate on, for not including chat rooms, but I can be pretty certain it's not "Chat roomz is hard".

Pretty much my thoughts exactly also.

Thats our point. Blizzard has chosen Facebook integration as a higher priotiy than chat.
See?

They're probably going to tell us to use facebook chat. lololol.
|
As stupid as this is, I'd rather see stuff about Starcraft II fill my timelines than stupid apps like Farmville.
|
I think this is a good way to fight smufing just require all your players to have your bnet account connected to your FB page and check it
|
who gives a flying fart about that?
Really, does Blizz have nothing else to do?
|
Anyone worried about having this integrated with their FB accounts are being sort of silly. Integration with FB I'm 99% certain is optional just like registering your e-mail address is now. If you don't want it, no one is forcing you.
That said this is sort of useless for me and I wish other features (like lobby chat) got in first.
|
Can't wait to "like" my own wins that I will obviously publish on my wall!
|
if its optional how will anyone beta test it? :D

QFT Chatting has to be the absolute easiest thing to implement into a game it's just text... each message is what 700 bytes? Come on...

They just announced this on Facebook www.facebook.com/starcraft
Post a comment protesting the fact that we can have international Facebook friends but won't be able to connect to other regions of bnet, please
