I feel like the siege tank change is mostly to make mech openers safer against blink/msc all-ins on maps like cloud kingdom.

So when is the Mac fix coming? Was supposed to be out 3 or 4 patches ago... veeeery disappointed.

With good viper use and broodlords too tanks are in a really bad place late game TvZ.

Have your expectations for Blizzard sunk so low that the easiest of fixes, a fix that impacts absolutely nothing except the unit in question, to unbreak something Blizzard themselves broke... is an accomplishment?
They took WoL Reapers, broke them completely, then reverted them back to roughly WoL levels of uselessness. This took four months. That does not deserve praise. They might as well have not touched the unit whatsoever in this expansion for all the good it's done.
T has a strong early game and a weak late game. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that experimenting with a tier 2-3 Reaper would be much more worthwhile than going back once again to the precarious balancing act that is a tier 1 harass unit.

The trick is to mix in Vikings to combat the vipers. This in return forces the Zerg to invest into a more gas heavy army like Hydras, mutalisks, corruptors etc to defend the viper against the Vikings. The outcome is that Zerg becomes incredibly depended on gas and needs multiple expansions which Terran at this point should harass or straight up deny. If Terran manages to harass and deny extra expansions then zerg won't have enough units to defend his vipers against Terrans vikings and thus the tanks will fuck up the Zerg 
EDIT: for Clarifcation, I'm currently playing as Terran High Masters (top 5) and harassment based gameplay with marine drops to keep the Zergs gas expansion down really does wonders to the MU.

Wouldn't most Zergs then just tech switch to mass Ultralisks if the Terran goes heavy on the Vikings?

There is something intrinsically silly about saying of a company that produced a best selling game that all of you play, 'Has no clue what they are doing'. No clue whatsoever? You mean to say, at blizzard, they threw changes into a hat, drew them out and implemented them? Surely they have a clue. Come on. Yes I agree some of these changes are. . unexpected, but #1 its a beta guys, they have liberty to experiment during a beta. And #2, they are game designers, and very good ones. They do have a clue. Can we just hang in there and be a little less pessamistic?

After diablo 3 and warhounds, I think people have the right to be annoyed at the modern blizzard game development..

Can't wait to try out the 2rax/1fac marine/siege/scv pull in TvT! It should be way more viable now than it was in WoL beta!

I really don't like this patch siegetanks marauders are so strong at close spawn on some maps. hit at like 6-7 minutes. ridiculous

If you guys are doubting HotS beta changes, I'd suggest checking out WC3. Still quite a bit of people playing that game and I even had a 4 RT game going on. It's also a lot cooler to watch because it's not 1a like SC2.

I really like this. Every time Blizzard tries to make Mech more viable without actually buffing Tanks, they just end up screwing with TvZ and TvT. It is such a shame that they refuse to buff Tanks, because while it would affect every Terran match up, if would ultimately change TvP the most. Zerg has got the Viper to deal with Tanks and Terran can build Tanks to counter Tanks. Protoss on the other hand would be forced into doing something else than Protoss deathball + a-move to win. Only problem is that the new Protoss air deathball is just as bad as the old deathball..

Reaper should've been dropped in gas cost to 25 to account for the damage reduction.

Hellbats have same DPS as Roaches against all targets, just smaller range and with some splash. They can be a soft-counter against siege tanks...

Why have they never tried putting the mines into the hand of the reapers, making them a tier 3 unit? etc-etc We are back at WoL basically.
