uh, no shit, it should be. That army would take so long to build up.. vikings and goliath take gas from tanks you know? Even then it would still come down to positional play with tanks involved, and if you lose an army gl building it back up. That's mech.

Yes yes thank god the warhound is gone. But there is still a gaping hole in Mech. Does the Siege Tank need a buff? IDK, but if it's not a buff, anti-siegetank units need a nerf, there are too many of them, and they are too good at nullifying tanks.


Imo, mech IS viable already but it revolves a lot around being constantly active with banshees/hellions and dumping lots of extra minerals into extra orbitals and strategically placed planetaries. In sc2 mech is simple more complex, it's not nearly as straight forward as it was in BW, which is cool because mechanically (no pun intended) the game is easier.

If they were to buff tanks then mech would be way over powered, just imo anyways. We're just now starting to see mech vs zerg, and it has only surfaced because players have figured out that banshees are actually a core unit in the style. I think with more time and experimentation it will be figured out vs toss as well (already it's used often in t v t). Anyways, can't say it enough, thank god the warhound is gone.

No, it was the cancer to mech. Now mech is free to be tested.

Free to be tested? Dude we've tested mech for 2 years now... with the warhound removed, mech is now the same thing as it was in wol. The battle hellion is just a minor transformation to how the hellion shoots and the widow mine is more like an ability than an actual unit. Wol terran and Hots terran basically look identical right now, they need to add a unit to mech that will make mech as good as bio or bio/mech. Right now, bio and bio/mech is better than straight mech. The reason people use mech is because mistakes aren't punished as much as in bio and bio/mech. If you make no mistakes with very high apm, bio/mech and bio will always be better than mech unless they addd a new unit to mech.........

Right now as it stands, Terran is garbage but good thing it won't stand for release so I am not sweating it too much.
Would be sad if they released Terran with a modified hellion, some stupid mines and a Reaper that can shoot up though.

Protoss air is ridonkulous. Many games could be entirely based on air units, fast harassment, spellcasters, teching up to air siege, carriers, recall all over the place. Protoss just became more tactical and more strategic.

Zerg seems a bit boring actually in comparison, they get a decent air unit in Viper, good but boring defense unit or push unit and the burrowing Ultras attack but kind of meh.

Protoss just crashed the HotS party with two hot call girls on each arm and buying the whole room Crystal Champagne.

Wow, they really removed the warhound?! It seems rather fast considering it IS the beta.. but its good to see blizzard is actively adjusting to what the community wants On a random note, they say cool a lot.

Awesome temporary patch. WH will be back but hopefully in a more balanced state. Watching White Ra lose to all those WH all ins was sickening despite having lots of sentries,zealots and one or two immortals.

They killed sentries and stalkers so fast it was wasn't funny. Every opening was fast chargelots. FE and you die.

Supply wise 2 is rather low for WH. WH maxed army higher than the Toss army by 20%!
Of course P have to make air to counter this WH but this is too difficult in early game.

Air is good for Toss now. Carrier with some tweaks even better but will be quite OP in multiplayer IMO. Already quite badass with recall[ican imagine]

Well Terran is going to need some serious help now. Although Warhound was a terribly-designed unit it is the #1 reason Terran was doing so well in the pro streams I watched. I really, really hope they buff tanks and make them the core of mech again. Make Warhound a support unit that helps tanks deal with Immortals and Ultralisks (their biggest problems).
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

mech should be formidable and difficult to break. it shouldn't be impossible to break.

think of broodlord infestor corruptor. it's essentially equivalent of mech for zerg, but while it's formidable and difficult to break, it's not impossible. if you have mass tank, air is the only viable response. (i challenge you to crash any 200/200 protoss ground army into mass tank. the result isn't close. well, maxed pure immortal almost does okay, but tanks still win handily.) then, if you have an abundance of anti-air weaponry, the fight is just hopeless. i'm only speculating, since we haven't seen how it would play out, but it sounds like a bad idea to me. i could be wrong.
