TvT is one of the better match ups, and by far the best mirror match up. Bio vs Bio can be lame, but any other style is usually really exciting to watch. Especially when you get tip top level players like Polt, MMA, Gumiho etc playing the match. I think a lot of the hate for the boring mech lines comes from mid tier Terrans that don't know how to engage against a mech line, and probably even from memories of late beta/early release when viking+tank dominated. Watching the highest level TvT is almost as fun as watching high level TvZ, in my opinion. Hopefully whatever they decide to do with terrans doesn't ruin the match-up like the warhound would have.

as a terran player that doesn't have the beta, the removal of the warhound makes me not even want a beta key. Now the only new units for terran are the battle hellion and widow mine. You can't even really call the battle hellion and widow mine "new units", because the battle hellion is just a different form of the hellion and the widow mine is more like an ability of a unit rather than a unit. Is anyone else feeling completely let down and frustrated with the removal of the warhound? Terran will now be the exact same thing in hots as it was in wol, blizzard better have a new unit planned for terran or it will be incredibly boring playing terran........

Summary: Blizzard like people being able to do really annoying shit that takes exactly 0 skill to execute but that you have to control and multitask perfectly to deal with. (I'm talking about the a-move-ier being back, reaper getting op buff so you can bunker bellow main or nat on every single map, new oracle ability which just negates all abilities, buff on the entomb thing)

I'm happy about the swarm host nerf and the widow mine buff as well as the removal of the a-move hound though. But I seem to be the only one to be asd about the carrier being back...

I never thought Blizzard would remove the warhound, but now i really believe that they're listnening to the community, wich is great!

The others changes are really smart and im looking forward to see how it goes, but maybe allowing widow mines to be built without an armory is a bit too early as a cloak unit...

First I read this:

Immortal
Immortal Hardened Shield will now reduce the warhound’s Haywire Missile damage.


Then I read this:

Warhound
This unit has been removed from the game.


Is that an unintentional joke?

Overall an enormous protoss love patch. Zerg only received a nerf, while I still think the corruptor needs adressing. I don't see Blizzard fixing the corruptor, frankly..

Instead of removing Warhound, why not removing terran from the game ?
I see no point in playing HOTS if only 1/2 new unit in terran.


Just give me back BW units with sc2 interface and i'll be fine.

Very happy with these patch notes. Protoss got some needed changes!

The new Phase Shield ability seems interesting and should help against endgame Zerg.

Also... I'm very happy that the carrier is back, even if it's not actually used in pro games that much. Maybe we'll see more Carriers with more viable Stargate tech.

wow wasn't expecting them to make such big changes :o

Happy that the Carrier is back, but I still hate the tempest, hope they either remove it or make it into something interesting. Glad they buffed the Oracle so that it has some other use apart from a few entombs. Not sure about the new spell though, need to see it in action, seems interesting, might be op. I guess it all depends on how big the radius is.

Removing the Warhound is an awesome move, hopefully they can redesign it into a cool unit. The other Terran changes seem kinda weird though. Also they really need to reduce the supply of mines, 2 supply for a spider mine seems a bit silly

Overall really love the patch

Um....so now terrans can make 1 reaper and push a protoss ramp with a handful of bio units and inta-win?

Am I reading that correctly?

EDIT: Also, it seems quite clear that the Warhound removal is 100% temporary until they can assess the game in it's absence and determine a better design for it to fill holes in Terran strategy.
