I did it by allowing him kill off the first base on his own - i just cloaked the wraiths flew in and killed the medivacs to be sure - i also repaired him after the 2 bc's attack. I continued to mass wraiths whilst building two bunkers at the east choke point filled both with marines. I took all my wraiths to the second base before the odin and killed the Raven then proceeded to kill the tanks and the bc and anything else that is likely to cause alot of damage making sure to kill the medivacs too. I continue to pump wraiths and hire the banshee mercs for the third base found this easy as long as you take out the two starports relatively quickly and the tanks on the high ground focus fire the banshess quickly. for the fourth base two nukes on the entrance as the odin approaches do them one after the other not at the same time also build the viking mercs go in with the viking mercs the banshess and a spectre armed with two nukes and about 15-20 scvs just pull them all as u no longer need them. micro the scvs in and out but make sure they cover the odin after the two yamato cannons hit as his health will drop quite quickly twenty scvs soon have his health up and the viking mercs/nukes will own the bc's.

Before the Odin goes in, use cloaked wraiths to pick off as much as possible from the bases - tanks in particular. Then use your marauder force to go in with the odin and soak up some of the damage. Marauders can eat a lot of punishment with medic support, which is essential for taking tank fire. If the enemy is focused on your infantry (which can be replaced) and their heavy firepower is sniped with cloaked wraiths, the Odin will be just fine. This is pretty helpful for getting the >30% achievement. Get a bunch of SVs to cover the Odin at all times, since scvs get picked off pretty quick. After the 4th base, take your wraiths and SVs over to the loki and quickly bring it down. With about 10-12 wraiths and a few SVs you should barely lose anything.

If you have trouble with this mission, go do the haven missions + supernova + protoss missions first. This will give you the unstoppable sci vessal banshee viking combo being pumped out of tech reactors, This mission was a breeze,

I didn't make any vessels or banshees, simply because of the lack of availability (I was playing on the archive before starting the final mission). I also didn't have an orbital command to throw down MULEs in desperate situations so I went into this mission thinking it'd take a long time. I had 2 starports tech lab'd, and kept pumping wraiths while sending 4-5 SCV to the odin. Now here's the tricky part: You HAVE to micro very well, especially during the 2-4th bases. first, cloak your wraiths, and take out the Tanks, thats your #1 priority. Then, take out the ravens if there are any, and banshees after that. Once the tank is down, you should be able to poke your scv onto the odin and back out while the enemy units try to snipe them off. SCV micro and smart use of wraiths is pretty much the key to winning this mission. I'd like to note that on the final base, i just didn't have enough gas to pump out wraiths so i just made a reactor on my rax and pumped out rines non-stop. I also sent like 80% of my scvs to the odin to keep him fully repaired (he'll nuke the 5th base so just keep him alive during the BC attacks)

Had like 2 or 3 scv's on the mechs with the science vessels. Having the Goliath upgrades is pretty great. Lets you snipe air and ground at the same time. Goliaths are cheap gas cost, so use extra gas for upgrades and science vessels. Expand when you can. I basically fended off the attacks on my base with 2 bunkers with marines. and a couple of missile turrets. Using the Merc compound for the upgraded goliaths and marines is really good.

Key to some places is hitting with cloaked wraiths a bit earlier than the Odin, which lures the raven to come detect you and you kill him easy. Then focus on tanks and battlecruisers. Used mules to repair Odin on several occasions without having to wait for SCVs to get their asses all the way there.

Second base I just run in from the east side with a couple of medic/marine/marauder, snipe the tank and the bunker while killing air with the wraiths. Odin pretty much does the rest but better have some SCVs ready, just in case. Then I lift my second OC to expand safely and with the income boost I go up to four facts and purchase all the mercs (got marines, marauders, goliaths, tanks) to help with the third base which I think is actually the hardest because I am very low on units due to powering so hard. After that it becomes pretty easy. Just massing goliaths from the facts rolls the rest without a problem. I suppose massing vikings instead would work as well, maybe even better as they're cheaper and more powerful against the air defenses in the last two bases.

Nothing can stop you now! Wraiths are a trap. Oh, some Science Vessels could be nice too so you don't have to bring scvs to repair (only in-between fights). I defended successfully with a fully upgraded bunker with 6 marines inside, merc tanks and a few perdition turrets for hellions/vultures.

The wraith isn't actually a lie, if used correctly. I began the mission pumping 3 tanks asap, to support the odin at base 1. Send an scv with them. When the wave of bio reinforcements are killed, wall off the exit from base one (on the black metal) with supply depots. This won't hold the odin forever, but it will hold him long enough. Seige the 3 tanks to help, and pump a few additional tanks to defend your base. Meanwhile, get 2/2 (eventually 3/3) air and pump wraiths off 2 starports. The goal is to get a critical mass (~20) of wraiths by the time the odin weasles through your supply blockade - he'll get through around when vultures/reapers begin attacking base 1, he likes to step forward to get to the reapers. Fear not, though, as once you've attained the critical mass of wraiths, the mission is easy. For each base, cloak your wraiths in (skip the intial defenses, these will let the odin give you time to hit important targets), obviously kill any detection, and focus on Battlecruisers/seige tanks in that order. I keep 5 scvs on the odin, and another 5 a little ways back. When the 5 scvs are killed, move another 5 from your base to the reserve, and bring your 5 reserve forward. Obviously, this means you'll need to continue pumping scvs, but I found I had a huge surplus of minerals, only limited by gas. And thats that. The trick is having enough wraiths that they can gib any threats, and also have enough collective firepower to do decent ground damage. By the end of the mission I went through about 20-25 martyr scvs, and lost around 8 wraiths (I continued making them, never went below 16, never above 22). Not only is it simple, but if you did the mission earlier without tech, you won't need to start a new game to beat this mission.

EDIT: Also don't waste gas on tanks, except maybe 1 tank behind your bunker... but you don't need even that before you killed the second base.

I had a bunker surrounded with depots for defense (on eastern side) a lot of scvs ready to repair Odin but not following him closely (of they'd be focused) just before Odin would attack base I'd cloak my units and kill tanks, air units and starports than I'd move back and decloack let Odin kill rest of units on his own... he's big guy he can take it! doing this gives you a lot of time to produce new units By the time you reach 5th base you'll have enough wraiths to overrun it ps I also had autorafinery so I took those 2 rafineries on north hope this helps

So theoretically, if you want to keep him trapped indefinately, after sealing him in with supply depots or whatever, send your forces to guard the ramp below base #2 - set up a bunker/siege or whatever. As long as no enemy units venture close enough to the Odin to trigger his "move to engage" behaviour then he should just be jiggling around like an idiot until you let him go.

EDIT: It is also important that you expand as soon as you can if you do this.
