Maybe. Maybe not. It depends how much lats contribution you're getting in the dipping portion.
Dips you could say are akin extremely declined bench press.

So I need some motivation to lose any more weight at all.
I'm 145 pounds now standing at 5'7. But I have no more motivation. I feel like I have gone a long way (from ~170-173) and therefore I am a lot lazier now. I'm trying to aim at least 135, and I will be really happy. The good thing is that my metabolism somehow got a lot faster. After I eat, I get hungry after like 40 minutes. This has never happened to me. So at least I won't gain weight in the near future...but I really want to lose more.
I think I'm going to start running again.

Do dips target the tris more than the chest relative to bench pressing though?

I wanted to ask for ideas about lunch. My school provides lunch, but I end up having to buy extra food myself. The standard lay out is - white rice, thin soup (which I often find inedible due to it being seafood.) tiny portions (about 1-2 table spoons full.) of side dishes which range from squid to kimchi.
I've been buying a grilled chicken salad with mustard dressing and eating that plus the side dishes. With no rice and soup only if it's something like egg drop or cabbage/tofu. I feel like it could be healthier and more varied though if I add some different items.

Uh, depends what versions of them you're doing. Close grip bench obviously uses more tris that regular.
Both are very good for triceps development honestly. Dips, bench, overhead press are all good to have in a routine.

Had a really good first third of the week last week, but the latter parts were horrible. Four nights in a row of either pizza/wings and copious amounts of beer/whiskey. Then visited my grandparents and had like 400 cookies. Working out today was rough! Not sure how I even managed. Tomorrow will be better.

Ive had a sore spot on my chest develop into a deep yellow patch. It feels like a deep bruise. Im wondering though if it has anything to do with my shoulder injury (same side, corresponds in height), perhaps they are linked?
I will just treat it with an ice pack?

swim season started this week and i'm getting my butt kicked into shape. the workouts actually aren't that hard right now but i'm still out of shape. i decided to cut out ice cream from my diet. i used to drop by the conbini on my way home and pick up a nice haagen dazs ice cream sandwich (so ex. but so good) but eating ice cream at night is probably a stupid idea.
jfazz-i've never heard of something like that before. sounds like some kind of internal bleeding to me but i'm not expert.

Well if it helps at all, it actually hurts a lot if I breathe really deeply, laugh, spit etc. Never had anything like this before. Ill try and see someone early next week if possible.

Do you have an idea where u got it from? Was it from going to the gym?

How about sandwichesssssss? Whole grain bread with coldcuts and veggies on it!! Simple and yumm... Or kimbap. I love making it with brown rice cus it makes it healthier than it already is.
Hope I helped~

im pretty sure it was yeah - I think the pectoral bruise (I think its a bruise but im not certain) is from the bench press bar.
I have a feeling the inflamed shoulder (which is like 90% better now anyway) was caused by push pressed (ill now be doing lateral raises).

Why don't you go to a doctor or a physiologist, relying on internet for your medical advice seems unwise to me.

Do u bounce the barbell off your chest when benching? That might be the problem.

I try not to, but sometimes I do. I have a doctors appointment with a sports doctor tomorrow (ok, im seeing a friend's dad but whatever), so hopefully that will tell me whats wrong.

I still can't find brown bread in Korea ;_; I did find a whole grainy type one that I'll use to try this out. I'm thinking no-butter tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches and using tomatoes and other yummy veggies. I hate seaweed - which is annoying.

yeah sandwiches are ideal NeverGG. When I am working or going to uni, I make tuna, egg, lettuce, tomata, cheese and avacado sandwiches. Very healthy and quite good nutritionally. Tasty as well! Vegetable sandwiches in general are fantastic.
|
If there's no brown bread, how about pitas? Often they are pretty healthy and you can stuff them full of tons of great stuff.
|
yeah you're welcome NeverGG. I'm not gonna post again since you don't care about my help anyways. Good luck
On another note, my back rehab is going quite well. Deadlifts and squats (low weights) has really helped me and I hope my back is well soon so I can start training hardcore again!
Eshlow, what do you think of supplementing with single amino acids and are there any ones that are "better" than others?
