City very obviously not at a level to play Guardiola ball, I think hes going to live with that. Problem is they cant keep up with the required intensity level for a whole game.

Can probably play 30-40% that intensity level everyother week in bundesliga and la liga but not in prem so he gonna find it very hard. Or his player will at least and be alot of injuries.

Hes got a big squad.. he should use it. Also when you play a high press style like that it doesnt really matter what league you are playing in because the whole point of playing like that is that it lets you dictate the pace of the game. I think its well established that the premier league is more intense because the players spend so much time running up and down the pitch chasing the ball more than they actually play with it. If you can remove that from the equation the PL is maybe a bit more physical but thats about it. O and also the stupid amount of games they play.

Looks like Tuchel has not really found a way to replace the lost players yet because it has been a very medicore first games with occasional good moments

Right now I give them 0% chance to bring home any kind of silverware. Not only are worse offensively than they were last year, but time and time again the team doesn't look like it has the mental toughness to face difficult situations (e.g. teams that park the bus against them and frustrate them). We already know that giving up these 3 points to Bayern is basically GG for the Bundesliga trophy, but as you mentioned, BVB has yet to really look good this season. They were completely out-classed in the Super Cup, their win against Mainz was extremely unconvincing, and aside from a few moments of brilliance, they looked incredibly poor today with a huge amount of mistakes.

Honestly i never even thought about them bringing home a trophy. Direct CL placing for next year, that's all they can and should go for. CL is not going to happen with this team and they are not winning the Bundesliga for obvious reasons. Plus the League Cup is only possible if someone somehow knocks Bayern out. Which might happen but then they might just loose to that team. The problem i see is that last season they were so successfull because they created a shitton of scoring opportunities and could waste almost all and still win 3-1. Now they are not that good at creating that and obviously score less because the scoring has always been medicore. They bought a shitton of talent this year which might not pay off yet but in the following years and that's fine. Can't afford a Micky/Gündogan 2.0 anyway with the amount of money being thrown around these days. Plus i'm still not a fan of Schürrle/Götze yet. But maybe that will change. Edit to that: My gut feeling is that BVB overspent on transfers. They bought a lot of talent and then added guys like Schürrle/Götze/Rode. The team is so big that a lot of playerrs stay home each game unless a lot of injuries happen. Which is fine from a company POV but CL placing is required for this to work and some of the talents have to step it up this or at least next year. The team has also changed a lot in the last months. We lost a lot of iconic figures like Hummels, (kind of Subotic), Großkreutz and Kuba. I know that a lot of players are better than the ones Tuchel did not want anymore but it's still sad to see. Obviously it's 100% correct from a "achieving success" POV to replace Subotic, Kuba and Großkreutz with Dembele, Bartra and Schürrle. But the old guys gave us 2 wonderfull years with 3 titles.

Schurrle has looked great for his first two games and Gotze looked like one of the best on the pitch for BVB today. The problem is that other attacking positions are lacking. Castro and Rode both had incredibly poor games today and Aubameyang has never been that great technically. This is a problem when technical execution is most important against heavily defensive teams. Tuchel should've started Demebele in Castro's place and played him more forward with Schurrle and Gotze. Rode was also VERY poor today, but I don't have a clear answer for that. Burki looked awful today as well (aside from that one save), and I have never liked him since he got here.

True about Schürrle, he was looking good. Hopefully that keeps going! And true about Auba as well. That's linking to what i was saying earlier. He evolved from being barely able to shoot straight ahead to at least being solid in that area - but he is still so wastefull in using his chances. Bürki has never been the good goalkeeper we need to be a hero in these situations. He is kind of there, does a decent job for most shots but usually does not parry the crazy ones. Then add his fuck-ups every game and it's not the solid GK you want in your back. Never liked him and he has never shown that he is one of the better goalkeepers in the league. Heck, there are SO MANY sick talented GKs in the Bundesliga alone that i would not even place him top 5 (maybe not even top 10).

I'm not eagerly waiting for Sportschau to watch my team perform. I check results on kicker.de and then i think "ehhh, why even bother. I'll just watch Simpsons instead". I feel the same, but I think part of that is that we all know that Bayern is guaranteed to win the Bundesliga title and most likely the DFB Pokal as well. Combine that with the fact that there's no confidence in this team having any chance of winning CL, but it's still good to enough to guarantee a CL spot in the top 3, and why should we watch? For me, I leave for military training in two months and won't be done until the beginning of next season, so I get to skip most of the season unless I really want to put in the effort to follow along. It makes it easier for me to not care as much.
