I think Golden State is clearly better, and probably LAC and San Antonio, but Houston and Memphis are arguable. Beyond that, Portland is unlikely and Dallas, New Orleans, and OKC are just absurd. I actually think Houston would have been a nightmare matchup for the Cavs. Healthy Dwight would have obliterated them with Lebron shooting so poorly from outside. Their offense would have just died.

I don't know if that will work because he's basically a free two points if you don't double him on the block but they might play into his ego and let him chuck. Could also exhaust him. Would definitely be interesting to see. They can still send well timed swipes against LeBron in the post even if they don't explicitly double. GS could go small but, conversely, the Cavs could force GS to go big if GS is really getting killed on the glass, which will basically have to happen if the Cavs hope to win.

I think they'll try funnel Lebron to Bogut and cover the three aggressively. Mozgov and Thompson will probably score above their averages this series because LeBron will find them on occasion but GS will be happier for Mozgov to average 16 or so a game if they can defend the three and make Lebron work hard.

Both have shot really well from range and Lebron's drive and kick game is giving them a lot of open looks. I think they'll try funnel Lebron to Bogut and cover the three aggressively. You think GS will give Bogut significant minutes? If so that's good news about the productivity of Mozgov and Thompson on the boards against pace-and-space lineup.

I think it would be a mistake by the Cavs to go too much small ball. GS is really good when small vs small. Bogut will make things a lot tougher for LeBron in the paint where he has done most damage these playoffs.

At full strength, I'd say the Pels could probably even take a couple games off the Cavs (though hypothetically-realistically it'd more likely be one). The only real shred of evidence is that they broke Atlanta's win streak and the last couple games of regular season. i'd favor spurs, clippers, and gsw over even a full strength cavs for sure. maybe even memphis considering they can actually score the ball unlike chicago. it's sad how after the craziness of spurs-clips these playoffs have been pretty one sided (not including clippers self destructing to preserve cp3's second round streak). i want a competitive finals but i think it will be 4-1 or 4-2 for gsw.

True, but Memphis doesn't have the transition offense of Houston so I didn't make them as "obvious" a winner. They'd probably beat the Cavs if two of their wing players showed up. ETA: In terms of SRS from just the regular season this is looking like 80s Celtics vs Rockets Finals, and even worse than 07 Spurs vs Cavs. Once again, Cavs winning TWO games would be a huge upset imo.
