Get your back flat and core tight. Keep the bar closer to your body and don't bend your arms throughout the pull. Don't cut your pull short, extend your hips and knees all the way. Jerk wasn't too bad, dip should be shorter and faster and footwork/recovery need work.
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

Got a bunch of mung beans for free and thinking of eating those as my primary carb source for the month or so, should be fine? I also have oatmeal but don't eat it everyday.

Thanks for the advice guys, probably going to spend some time after my meet next Sunday to learn a bit of Oly lifting while taking a break from all this Powerlifting bs lmao

Also, just wanna say how different it is to lift on comp. spec Eleiko equipment, it really feels heavier. Anyway, going to test openers on Monday. Hopefully my glute holds up because it hasn't been doing well lately.

Went horribly today. Couldn't squat above 120kg because of the pain, plan was to squat opener of 180.5 (record is 180). Opening weight of 103kg (0.5 above the record) on the bench felt heavier than I wanted it too. Tried to hit my opening deadlift of 200, it came off the floor pretty nicely but dropped it near lockout because of the glute pain.

Gonna take time off until Sunday, maybe do really light squat and deadlifts for some blood flow work in

Don't open with anything remotely hard, all you need is 1 good attempt to take the record. Do other stuff that pumps blood to your injured area.

Hit a 5kg Snatch PR yesterday (95kg total) but I have no idea how to embed the instagram video.

Yeah I've been watching everything on the NBC sports app. Just need an american friend with a cable login. If not I use frontrowsports or VIPbox for my streaming needs.

Fucking 12kg jump to smash one of the oldest WR by 4kg and take gold on bw. What the actual fuck. And apparently he's done 180/217 in training.

Too bad he'll get popped for stanzalol in 8 years ~~

I wish the general public understood PEDs a little bit more so they could stop focusing on them so hard when the olympics (or any other sporting event, really) rolls around. Most of this shit's amazing with the drugs, and beyond superhuman without them.

The average person is pretty dumb when it comes to steroids. Their only understanding of steroids is "roid rage" and "cheating." However, a lot of women believe that if they start lifting heavy weights they're going to look like Bradley Martyn, so I guess it's not too surprising that people tend to overestimate what good genetics and natural talent can achieve.

That's not to say that the human body can't natural do amazing things, however people have such a warped perception of competitive athletes that they competitions like WSM are purely for natural lifters.

So the meet didn't go as I thought it would but I guess it turned out alright in the end. My glute didn't act up much, so I was able to hit a pretty comfortable 181kg opener to get the record, and do 200kg for an easy 3rd. Could've went much higher looking at the speed, but I didn't want to push my luck.






The bench was the only disappointing lift I feel. Went 103.5/110/115x because my lower back cramped up so bad during the last attempt I had to be helped off the platform.





At this, I knew I just had to hit my opening deadlift of 195kg, and my total would be at least 50kg above anybody else in my age and weight class. I wanted to try and fight for 3rd place in the Opens, so I went for 220 after 195, and it turned out to be the grind of my life. I needed to pull 230 afterwards to place, but it wasn't meant to be. 4th in the Opens in u82.5, just 5kg behind! Should've pushed my squat, and if only I got that 3rd bench attempt.






So overall I only came out with 1st place in the u82.5kg T18-19 category, and 4th in the Opens. Btw the spotter on the right in my Bench and Squat videos is the person I'm taking the records from :^)
