Found these articles after his first gold. South korean netizens not blaming ahn for defecting, but the skating officials. I can't wait for the articles after his 2nd gold! http://www.scmp.com/sport/other-sport/article/1429786/fury-over-viktor-ahns-russian-gold-aimed-korean-skating-union http://olympictalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/16/south-koreans-lash-out-at-skating-officials-after-victor-ahns-russian-gold/ http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/17/sports/olympics/south-koreans-fume-as-native-son-wins-gold-for-russia.html

On a side note the 5k team relay was not ONLY Ahn, so a bit of a country pride as well! (even though its obvious that Ahn is responsible for the explosive boost of russian short-track athletes' skills)

I shamefully clicked on it. Cute girl, cute Doraemon stting in the background lulz. The foot eating thing is quite notorious and has been around for a while. You can look up the history on Google. Here is a bonus one for you + Show Spoiler +

No patriotism bullshit, just a normal appreciation of a true champion!!! Brilliant races today. On a side note the 5k team relay was not ONLY Ahn, so a bit of a country pride as well! Now that Russia has gained "top tier" techniques, they will definitely be a major player from here on out. Victor Ahn will become a coach in Russia after he retires. Looking forward to 2018. Now I only wish the Dutch would share all their training regimes and facilities with the rest of the world in long track ![]()

Nothing wrong against pioneering the sport a little. We cannot expect other countries to continue to produce Sablikova's. That said, I have no doubt that the Americans are going to change things for the next Olympics. Far too many medals to be won to have such poor results.

The Team Canada coach made a rousing speech and 1 of the women on Team Canada secretly recorded it. she now posted it on youtube.com and its spreading like wild fire. i disagree with her posting it online because i think what goes on in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room. nonetheless she published it and so here it is! + Show Spoiler + On February 22 2014 04:20 ne4aJIb wrote: pamela andersen canadian? jim carrey canadian? whaat?! gratz to canacks with 90% gold! ~_~ the thing i'm most proud of by jim carrey was his portrayal of andy kaufman ( an american ) in "Man on the Moon". if u want to see jim carrey at his best, check out that movie.

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory/celski-falls-judges-advance-short-track-22618401?singlePage=true The 28-year-old Seoul-born skater switched nationalities in 2011 after competing for South Korea as Ahn Hyun-soo in Turin. A career-threatening knee injury in 2008 and multiple surgeries kept him from producing results for his skating club and he didn't have enough time to qualify for the 2010 Vancouver Games. Ahn's team soon disbanded and other teams were already full, leaving him at a loose ends "I was feeling bad and sad," he said. "My goal was to participate in another Olympics." The shy redhead eventually found a new home in Russia. South Korea law prevents men from holding dual citizenship, so he had to find a new national identity, too. "I made a decision and I have no regret," he said. "I would like to thank Russia." Ahn carefully avoided saying much about his former South Korean teammates during the games out of respect to them. He said he and his father have argued about inaccurate interviews the elder man has given about his son's departure. "I don't want there to be too much controversy in Korea about me," he said. Before leaving him alone with the media, Ahn's teammates credited him for boosting short track's profile in Russia, where it was a little known sport before the Olympics. "He's pushing us forward and we grow with him," skater Semen Elistratov said. Added Ruslan Zakharov, "Viktor has a lot to show to us and every competition we learn from him." Aleksei Kravtsov, president of the Russian speedskating federation, said tickets were sold to short track practice for the first time and the competition was shown live on national television. "The Olympic Games have given a great boost to short track in Russia because of his brilliant performance," Kravtsov said. "His presence will continue to boost our sport."

the lamoureux sisters are teh dirtiest players in the women's game. Julie Chu is a cheap shot artist diver. and Marie-Philip Poulin is the best female player on planet earth. she walked around Chu like she was standing still. Furthermore, do not make this out to be a "1 game fluke" In the previous "big event" before the Olympics, the "4 Nations Cup" .. Team USA finished 3rd behind Canada and Finland. Also, Canada defeated teh US team TWICE in this Olympics. any how.. here is a pretty good interview
