Galatasaray and Arsenal facing each other after 13 years(!) 2000 UEFA Cup final is the last time they met
haha I remember watching that match at a Turkish Café in Rotterdam, a friend of mine invited me to watch with him. I was rooting for Arsenal but Galatasaray completely won me over. They were a really great side that year
We also beat Real Madrid at Super Cup final in that year
0_0 Wow beating that Madrid is seriously impressive, I didn't know that.
I remeber that! It was first match of new season and you traded Hakan Sukur to Inter, but got Mario Jardel from Porto. He immediately scored two goals, one in extra time. That Galata team was so resillient - stronger opponents could presure them for 90 minutes, but they rarely scored. And even in his mid 30's, Hagi bossed the midfield so damn hard. Good times, though I still remember those two poor Leeds fans stabbed by some Turkish douchebags during UEFA Cup semifinals.

Taffarel was the true hero of Galatasaray's roster imo. He made unbelievable saves all tournament long. He is now working as gk coach at Galatasaray.+ Show Spoiler +
i also remember what happened to leeds fans. it was such a disgrace by Turkish fans.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Think 20 was the magic number? Think bigger.
Major League Soccer plans to add another four teams by the 2020 season, Commissioner Don Garber announced at halftime during the broadcast of Wednesday night’s AT&T All-Star Game at Sporting Park.
The league had previously held to the idea that a 20-team league was the sweet spot for the foreseeable future. MLS has added 10 clubs since the beginning of the 2005 season, and the recent addition of New York City FC – who begin play in 2015 – will bring the league to 20.
“These expansion clubs have brought new ideas that have contributed to our strategy for growing the league and the addition of new markets has expanded our geographic reach while increasing our fan base,” Garber said in a league press release.
Wednesday’s news gives immediate hope to several markets looking to break into the league, such as Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Detroit and Sacramento, to name a few – several of whom had representatives presenting to the MLS Board of Governors here on Wednesday afternoon.
MLS has engaged in exploratory discussions with multiple markets and potential owners regarding future expansion, according to the statement. The league will unveil a process during the coming months that will detail the procedure and timing for future expansion.
Is Brasileiro the major championship in Brasil or are the regional (Paulista etc..) more important. What is the most important for a team ?
From the most prestigious to the least:
1. FIFA Club World Cup (international cup) 2. Copa Libertadores da América (south american cup) 3. Campeonato Brasileiro (brazilian championship) 4. Copa Sul-Americana (south american cup) 5. Copa do Brasil (brazilian cup) 6. Regional championships (Paulista, Mineiro, Gaúcho, Carioca, etc)

Clint Dempsey going to Seattle Sounders. Last year he was all about getting to Champions League, something must have not worked out for him about Tottenham I guess.
The guy had a blistering season at Fulham but it was because of the excellently crafted team and the position in the team he played. He is similar to Michu in that he can finish excellently, but he has very little athletic ability and was not able to sync in with the pace of Tottenham especially not with Bale Lennon and Walker. It was an absolutely atrocious decision to buy him, not only did it really really hurt fulham it was practically useless for Spurs.

HELL YES! Minnesota United should jump up from tier 2 to MLS. I'd actually start watching!
Actually predicting: Miami(done deal as Beckham is involved, also source tells me ink is already on paper), Orlando, St. Louis(Imagine Sporting KC and a St. Louis rivalry...), and the fourth candidate is up in the air.

Yeah, my jaw dropped when my boss told me this today. Ive been going to some Sounders games the last month its entertaining enough, its surprisingly so even though the level is mediocre to bad compared to europe.

Seattle and Portland have the best MLS experiences I've heard. And significantly better than in the East, it's not nearly as good over here.

It's still heavily watched, just the titles don't mean that much.
