nice lift haha.
that's a forum record. you're using straps but i don't think thats too big of a deal It's not. It's actually pretty ok with the forum standards. A real Deadlift means no straps in my book. You don't use straps for PRs. It is of course still a majorly impressive pull. How much do you weigh (@farvacola obviously)? I have to second that... Grip strength is a part of the Deadlift that can't be taken out of the lift. A PR has to be done without straps. Really good speed I was quite impressed with that! A personal record in deadlift is self-explanatory; what you are describing is a raw PR. Y'all can keep your names on that little list though, I just want to progress. I always thought tlhf was about progressing and helping others get into training and do the same. Everyone here knows we ain't the next Konstantin Konstantinovs so the PR leaderboard is just another way to set goals and go forward. I've never seen any equipped and multiply feds accept straps in a deadlift and I was only expressing my opinion. At the end of the day, you can do whatever want. You don't owe anything to me or anyone else here for that matter. We ain't your boss. Yeah, I meant to type a smiley face at the end of that because I didn't mean it nearly as negative as it sounded haha. Live and let lift, I always say. I'll see if I can't get a vid of an attempt at 605 next week

No biggies my friend. Looking forward to see your 605lbs attempt! Looking at the speed of your 585 you should get it no problem!

Todays 27.10.2012
Benchpress: 10x4 60kg easy bench today.
Dumbell-press aka bench: 10x1 27kg 8x1 32.5kg 5x1 42.5kg 6x1 50kg (pr in reps) Actually, my second time I try out that
|
OHP day. 3/3/3 week which means not going to failure. Did 9 reps @ 60kg. Some dude did front squats with 50 kg next to me. Felt pretty damn satisfying pressing more than someone next to me squatting. Not long ago I was the tinyest guy in the gym
|
@thejob. Pressing more than people benching is deeply satisfying.
Today I trained at a crossfit gym, which means I had access to bumper plates (taishan) and chalk.
Deadlift 215kgx1, 180x3x5, and then learned clean and jerk up to a 60kg max (LOL, I can press more than what I jerk). think I could have gone higher but they where gonna close.
Its so enjoyable to jerk the barbell and drop it, even if its light weight. Also, chalk is like magic; the bar had less knurling than the bar I usually train with, yet my deadlift grip felt solid as fuck.
After my powerlifting competition I'm 100% starting to clean and jerk/snatch as much as my shoulder allows me. I also wanna start training twice a week, no kidding.
Side note: I completely loath university, and there is no way I'm enduring submiting myself to a fixed schedule after I'm done with uni. I'm doing everything in my power to be able to make 3-4k monthly with my company+poker before the end of next year (when I'm done with college). Also I think deadlifts where so ez today despite traveling to another city and carrying kettlebells before it, cause I took 2 naps before hitting the gym (nap, lunch, nap, gym). Sleeping is fucking important, and again, I've had to deprive myself of it because of uni. Fuck that.

@GoTuNk! wow, do you normally deadlift without chalk?
I cant even begin to imagine how that is possible lifting as much as you do.
|
Today: Squat 1x5 40, 85, 1x3 105, 125, 1x1 140, 5x2 155kg BP 1x5 47.5, 57.5, 67.5, 1x3 85, 5x2 97.5kg
Got woken up at 5:30am because some dick from Gaza decided to fire some rockets at us. What kind of an asshole wakes people up at 5:30? Anyway, the lack of sleep definitely made the workout suck.

Todays 28.10.2012
Biceps dumbbells: 8x1 20kg 6x1 24.5kg 4x1 27kg

Stay strong people! :DD

I hadn't noticed but I was deadlifting with a fat bar, so my grip got strong (and I tought I was weak when I started missing lifts). The gym has 1 bar with sick (hard) knurling because everyone is a pussy, so its chalk alike (though a bit harder).
Tomorrow I'm gonna hit the gym twice for first time since ever I think, just because I can. Morning will be snatch practice and light pull ups, PM is squats, benches and some BB stuff for arms. I think to bench more I need bigger arms, its just ridic how small they are compared to my back/legs. For elite powerlifting at my height I need to weight around 190, and I'm at like 175 now. Hopefully I don't want to get fat, so I'll keep doing adding more work as I eat more.

Throat still a bit weird, arms still hurt, but fuck it, I'm lifting tonight. Shadows and dust.
|
as GoTunk I Need bigger arms too.
time to curl?

time to curl? I think this to myself once every 2 months or so. Then I end up curling for one session. It's just so god damn boring.

Also going for 190x1 next monday, should be able to get a video of the pull.

Hit 1000lb club today Squat 365, 375x Bench 245, 255x Deadlift 390, 405 Total 1015lb
Gonna switch into bodybuilding bro split routine, try and hit chest and shoulders more often cuz they're lagging way behind. Maybe I'll try to run a smolov jr cycle on bench or something in jan or feb cuz its fucking disgraceful.

Just add more work, with your work capacity you could do curls to failure every day and not be even sore. At least for me, they are so not taxing its like free mass. To what I was doing, I just added pull ups after my regular pulls and barbell curls/db hammer curls after benches. Went to the gym in the morning, gonna go again now LOL.

Back at the gym after my 2 week hiatus. Pretty OK, only lost a relatively tiny bit of strength, but my arms man... They still hurt. Did squats, they hurt a little bit, did bench and they hurt a bit more, did chins and they hurt like hell. I haven't used them for anything in 2 weeks, what the fuck?

I'm not much of a lifter, but my 16 year old brother is a powerlifter-- he's competed once, got 1st in teen and 2nd in mens--and now holds a record. He started lifting around January 2011. We're both Korean =].
His lifts: Bench: 325 lb (147 kg) Squat: 605 lb (274 kg) Deadlift: 650 lb (295 kg)
Height: around 5'9'' - 5'10'' Bodyweight: 194 lb (88 kg)
His goals: Bench: 405 lb before summer Squat: 700 lb before spring Deadlift: 700 lb before 2013
It'd be appreciated if you check out his youtube: iliftnoodbrah He's trying to post more videos and his progress of his (what I think is impressive) lifts ~

wtf man your brother is a beast, I think he can crush all 192 records except the deadlift (imba ed coan) within the next few years. He still has room for around 10 pounds of weight if he cuts a bit before competitions on that class. By far his squat is the most impressive. Man, he is so young/strong he could even pick up oly lifting on the off season and dominate kids of his age on that aswell imo. Srsly, he is really amazing :p

Yeah his pride lies within his squats. Given our genetics we've been given a solid set of legs. He's been considering olympic lifts... but for now I think he wants to stick with power.
On a side note, GoTunk do you still play BW? :p
