Man I expected the whole ground to shake after you finished the lift but then you slowly let it down. Nice lift!

It's not. It's actually pretty ok with the forum standards.

In other news, my motivation has been lacking. I've been missing gym sessions like crazy I don't know what's wrong. I do want to keep on lifting I just can't drag myself to the gym most days.

Somebody help .

Seconded. Also do you have any short term goals? I set some goals to hit by the end of October, and now that it's getting close, I really don't want to miss a session. I want to either achieve the weight, get as close as possible, or in one case, see how far past the original goal I can lift. With only a few days left, every session counts.

A real Deadlift means no straps in my book. You don't use straps for PRs.

It is of course still a majorly impressive pull. How much do you weigh (@farvacola obviously)?

So true my friend, using straps are for reps :D
I even bought straps but I cant really use them that well, prefer non-strap!

With the carb cycling schedule I'm on, my weight fluctuates wildly (15+/- lbs), but I sit around 220 at 6'2. And when it comes to straps, I am cursed with very small hands for my weight and height, with wrists under 6.5 inches around, and if I don't use straps on my deadlifts or rows my grip is totally shot for the rest of my back workout, and I love pullups too much to sacrifice them I think I'll go for 605 next back day!

Who are you and what have you done with funkie? I'm confused. Stop being a whiny bitch and go crush some weights. Where's that 180kg squat?
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

I have to second that... Grip strength is a part of the Deadlift that can't be taken out of the lift. A PR has to be done without straps.

Really good speed I was quite impressed with that!

A personal record in deadlift is self-explanatory; what you are describing is a raw PR. Y'all can keep your names on that little list though, I just want to progress.

You have to put a line somewhere, and every one of us gets to draw that line where they please. I'm pretty sure everyone is OK with belts on the PR board, but it's never been brought up how everyone feels about straps, since most of us don't use them.

6 plates is still a damn fine lift - especially for 6'2 220. It's the heaviest weight anyone here has picked up to date, and that's not being denied. Congrats man, keep it up.

I always thought tlhf was about progressing and helping others get into training and do the same. Everyone here knows we ain't the next Konstantin Konstantinovs so the PR leaderboard is just another way to set goals and go forward.

I've never seen any equipped and multiply feds accept straps in a deadlift and I was only expressing my opinion. At the end of the day, you can do whatever want. You don't owe anything to me or anyone else here for that matter. We ain't your boss.
