It is surprisingly lazy that the French system has taken this long to deal with it. I thought the French were against rich people with unfair rules, since as you chopped a bunch of their heads off a couple of hundred years ago. Technically Monaco is not France.

Or is he just honorary chairman or something?

By 'the French system' I meant the league not the country.

They don't say anything about which team they prefer to avoid conflicts in a country where there are regions that claim independence like Cataluña or País Vasco (what are the names in english????) Catalonia and Basque Country, respectively.

You might have read that during Franco's reign, he would favour teams like Real Madrid (which is false, a lot of people think e was more of a Altetico supporter...) and try to attack teams from the regions I told before like Athletic Bilbao or Barca (which is true). Nothing on the Royal Family though ;p

Nothing on the Royal Family though ;p Both Atlético and Madrid are teams from the capital. When Barça was doing good they went to sign Di Stéfano. Franco said no way, you already got Kubala, Di Stéfano goes to Madrid. And so it was. Edit: Actually Madrid didn't win that many Ligas during Franco's dictatorship. They still got heavily favoured during games according to everyone who watched them xD On May 10 2013 23:01 WillyWanker wrote: But it was more against Fcb than to help Rm... That is correct. He was almost surely an Atlético supporter.

![]() My local side does well in the British Basketball league though, Worcester ![]() Interesting news breaking at the moment...i'll start with a Chelsea bit which is more nailing on where Mourinho will be heading at the end of the Season. Jose Mourinho expects David Moyes to succeed at Manchester United "When Sir Alex called me to give me the honour of knowing from him his decision, I was surprised and sad," the Real Madrid boss said. "At the same time, I was happy to feel his emotion, and pride for such an amazing career. "It will be difficult for me, and I think all managers, to go to Old Trafford and play against Manchester United, without this mythical figure waiting for us. "I think David is a great choice. I like him as a person, I like his character as a manager. I believe Manchester United will support him, I think he has the qualities to do a good job. "I wish Sir Alex a happy life, and I wish David a successful career at Old Trafford." "We are good friends, and my good friends know which club I would like to manage when I finish my work at Real Madrid," Mourinho added. He was also asked if he would tune in when Ferguson takes charge of his last match at Old Trafford on Sunday, and said: "No, certainly not - no, I don't want to cry!" Manuel Pellegrini odds-on to be next Manchester City boss after surge in bets Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini has been backed in to 1/4 favourite to be the next manager of Manchester City following a series of hefty bets on Friday. Sky Bet's Chris Spicer said: "We're not sure where the Pellegrini to City rumours stem from, but we've had no shortage of three-figure bets from serious punters, even at odds-on. "We've had no choice but to shorten the price to protect ourselves in the event of another shock announcement from Manchester. Incidentally, Jose Mourinho is a distant second favourite at 16/1." Source is standard Sky Sports website. These taken from Twitter Articles though ![]()

I think in a many parts of Europe football clubs (big football clubs) have a basketball team too and along with other sports they make a 'sports club'. The club I support Radnicki Kragujevac has a successful team in basketball/volleyball/water polo ect. so a lot of people that have season tickets for football buy one for basketball too. It also brings the football ultras into the basketball arenas First tier football in Serbia to be honest isnt that fun or exiting to watch, I go because its a great way to spend time over the weekend with friends and woe over how we are going to drop out of the league while throwing insults at people that aren't from our city because we can. All in all a good time. Basketball however is a different story, we have a good team making nice results (3rd place in the Adriatic league, a top league in Europe), and in general there is always something happening in basketball (points/fouls/big plays ect.). After watching 4 whole seasons of European basketball the NBA is legit boring for me to watch. I don't want to derail this thread further so I'll stop here ![]() btw water polo is the shit
