It’s mostly the same bunch posting over and over again, with very little fresh input or new faces coming in. If another topic comes up, it’s usually from one of the regulars, and the discussion quickly returns to lifting. Essentially it’s what it was before the move to the TLHF forum. Of course weight lifting is a perfectly valid topic, and most of the regulars here do regular lifting. Still a more varied discussion in this thread I am sure would be appreciated by many people who don’t post here yet, and also people who do. Right now I have one concrete suggestion: Everyone take their workout logs to fitocracy instead of this thread. First, that would clean this thread of the constant rain of intimidating lifting numbers, thus hopefully growing varied discussion, and second: Fitocracy is fun! And I see way too few TLHF regulars posting their logs on fitocracy. http://www.fitocracy.com/ - Gogo! Yeah, I agree. I always wonder why people post their logs here and not on fitocracy. It's much easier to follow what everyone is doing on fitocracy and see progress. It's also nice to discuss specific workouts without clogging up the general discussion.

I wouldn't mind a separate thread from the general thread for posting lifting logs, but I don't think. using fitocracy is the right way to go. their social aspects are very limiting IMO, and it just feels strange to go to not-tlhf to get tlhf information. I say we leave the general discussion here, and someone (i could do it?) Opens a thread where the OP tracks weightlifting goals and workout logs are posted. it would be specific to logs, and then the rest of the talking (last meet, how do I train for a sport, motivation talk, "hey guyz i'm new", etc) can stay here.

Today was a big day for me, very encouraging and fun!!! I finally got my knee wraps in the mail and decided to go heavy in squats to test them out. Was feeling strong...after having only ever managed to get 160kg for 6 bad reps, and that was last year before I took masses of serious time out to study law, I managed to hit 180kg 4 times in the back squat, even though the depth was not amazing. Also, managed to hit 150kg beyond 90 degrees and 130 x10 ATG. My ATG is rising steadily but I took a while to get into it, now I am very happy I am doing some proper squats. + Show Spoiler + So the squat section of my workout went: 100kg x 10 ATG 120 x 10 ATG 140 x 5 90 degrees 160 x 5 almost 90 degrees 170 x 5 almost 90 degrees 180 x 4 almost 90 degrees 140 x 5 pretty deep 150 x 5 pretty deep 160 x 5 90 degrees 120 x 10 ATG 100 x 10 ATG Plus a bunch of other things like leg press, quad raise, ham curls, calf presses, walking squats, 80kg lunges, 70kg cleans. Maybe went a little bit over the top but I just felt so much energy and happiness, the knee wraps are the best things to have happened to my gym work in a long time. I have hypermobile knees and have always had problems with my knee stability and injuries. The wraps keep them tight and strong and let me focus on my muscles, and it feels fucking fantastic :D. It justifies the fact that I have become a fat ass eating my way up to 90kg BW, unable to fit into most of my trousers. Will be going for a bit longer in this mega eating phase until I start getting my weight under control haha. Too much fun eating -all- the chicken and squatting lots :D

think I have the routine figured out... pretty much ripped it from 70s big for beginning lifters. two strength days, two technique days. Monday c&j/snatch, focusing more on the c&j. Tuesday back squats and pressing. Thursday front squats, snatch/c&j focusing on the snatch. Saturday back squats and rowing. making chirp appointment tonight, because my back kept me up until 4am last night. painkillers don't seem to help. drinking does though.

Let us know if the chiro helps. I'm starting a glute-specific routine specifically for strengthening the posterior sling etc. and hopefully that solves the chronic SI pain. Might help if that's what it is for you?

If its not that, I haven't got a clue what it could be. the pain doesn't follow the track of any of the nerves down in my leg, and its lasted too long to just be a couple pulled muscles. Had a recommendation just now for a good chiro here in the city, so... guess that's where I'm going!

The Press: 70kgx1 (PR FUCK YEAH), 65kgx1x6, 60kgx1x8 7kg away from BW Press. Will try to get that on tape for u guys ![]() I agree we shouldn't just post weightlifting numbers here, but sharing motivation/life stuff together with lifting is what keeps this forum interesting in my opinion. Like, here I can post how much I miss my gf and get a bunch of guys telling me to squat more, which is awesome ![]() "There was for me only one thought and one desire- to become strong- and everything else had to bow before this unconditional goal." - Maxick

My scrubby team managed 3rd place in our ultimate league :D We also beat 2nd place during the season (my layout D hand injury >.<) and lost to 1st twice 15-13 and 15-10 so pretty respectable.

It's fine as a beginner, but I can see how it would be a problem for you or dimsum. No option for any partials except snatch balance and hang clean. When learning the C&J is it smartest to just "jerk anything that you succeed in cleaning" or should I also spend time on just the jerk? Seems like it would be a pain in the ass to set up to practice just the jerk.

You can also save routines so you don't have to go through and find the same thing every time. I'm not in olympic lifting, so I don't know how bad it is for that, but I actually like fitocracy lol
