So instead, I did some partial snatches with just the bar (overhead squat, snatch balance, snatch pull, hang snatch) just trying to get comfortable with the balance and the flexibility involved, and also to figure out where I needed to grip the bar (about 2.5 inches in from the collars seemed the most comfortable, will keep experimenting, because I know it's supposed to be "as wide as possible"). Didn't keep track of how many I did. Then I moved on to some hang cleans with just 30 kg, trying to work on getting full extension, and then pulling myself under the bar. Made some progress, but I'll have to bring a camera next time. Also did a jerk every time I successfully cleaned the weight. Jerks feel completely natural compared to cleans - is this normal, or am I probably doing something ridiculously wrong here? Either way, did 10 triples for this. Tried some full cleans, to get comfortable with the start position, and try to adapt what progress I'd made in hang cleans to full body. Mixed results. I'm catching lower, but I'm very forward when I get there. I also ended up just catching it a little above parallel, and pulling it down to a full squat. Better than nothing though! Moved on to front squat, because past experience tells me I can do that regardless of how my hip feels. Just did a triple, then added 10-20 lbs, and continued up on that - set a PR completely on accident, and so when I noticed that I decided to stop. Finished with some barbell rows because fuck yeah. Since squatting isn't bothering me at all, and deadlifting is no matter what I do, it looks like I'm temporarily abandoning that 405 lb deadlift goal. Going to get to work on squatting 3 or 4 times per week (2 back, 1 or 2 front) and try to get that up, while also recording and improving snatch and C&J technique. I don't think the squat nemesis that funkie, dimsum, and decaf were doing is really necessary right now, but I'll think about the programming for a while, and then post here.

I think you should do anything that involves hip movement that doesn't hurt (squat/cleans), foam roal the shit out of it, and start with light deadlifts. I believe if there is minor pain, yo should actually send blood there. Also stuff urself on fish oil.

Zercher Squat from pins height: 140kgx1x15 (yes I do this shit, and they feel useful) Pull Ups: 5x5 I lied, I miss my gf, I'm so stupid for ruining it. Nevertheless, I'm planning on going foward and getting stuff done even if I feel like shit. I've got more done in last 3 days than in last month (half of my company's work, cleaned my room and car, got into poker again). I'm also going out with a friend and 2 girls we met last saturday (maybe), so I''ll keep using pain and sorrow as a source of strength for getting shit done and becoming even stronger. "Most power lifters share some common defects, and as a whole for whatever reason, LOVE to punish, beat and torture ourselves beyond the limits of mind and body. It is our spirit that prevails. This defect of intelligence and sensibility pushes us onto the next level, makes us better and stronger. We all have lifted sick and badly hurt. When this subject comes up with normal people and other meatheads, we all have the prideful smile when we talk about lifting with a 100 degree temperature or a torn groin. Thank God that therapy doesn't work on us." - Captain Kirk

Foam rolling hasn't helped, I need to get into a chiropractor's office a couple times. I'll keep trying deadlift here and there and see if I can get them back in working order. Been taking 2g of omega3's per day in fish oil for over a month though. can't afford to take more! Been drunk since Thursday. Went with some friends to a resort and stayed shitfaced 24/7. Dunno how, but we all managed to survive for a straight week on 5 hours of sleep and constant alcohol consumption. Pretty sure my gains for the last month or so are fucked. Somehow gotta find the time to go to the gym today. Suddenly everyone wants to hang out.

![]() started with a painfully hard 3x5x110kg front squat then I pressed 65kgx2 - no progress there either and it ended with a tough 160kgx5 deadlift. havent deadlifted in like 5 weeks though so I guess that was not too surprising. at least i'm down to 81-82kg bodyweight!

Been having some problems sleeping, due to anxiety, missing my ex too much and being a pussy in general. I hate this version of myself, the one that spwans for short periods of time, misses her, and then reminds that everything went to shit. Fuck me. Only got 4hours of sleep today ![]()

for the last couple of hundreds of pages, this thread has become almost entirely a weight lifting thread again. It’s mostly the same bunch posting over and over again, with very little fresh input or new faces coming in. If another topic comes up, it’s usually from one of the regulars, and the discussion quickly returns to lifting. Essentially it’s what it was before the move to the TLHF forum. Of course weight lifting is a perfectly valid topic, and most of the regulars here do regular lifting. Still a more varied discussion in this thread I am sure would be appreciated by many people who don’t post here yet, and also people who do. Right now I have one concrete suggestion: Everyone take their workout logs to fitocracy instead of this thread. First, that would clean this thread of the constant rain of intimidating lifting numbers, thus hopefully growing varied discussion, and second: Fitocracy is fun! And I see way too few TLHF regulars posting their logs on fitocracy. http://www.fitocracy.com/ - Gogo!
