tried 132.5kg squat but for some reason my left arm was troubling me so I stopped (also, the bar felt fucking heavy) 65kg press went abysmal as well (3-3-2), partly because of the arm pain then I was supposed to deadlift 175kg. bar did not move, not even an inch. so I deloaded it a bit and tried 160kg. could barely get one rep in T_T
went home looking like this:
what the fuck is going on!
shit like this always happens once in a while to me, and I just accept it
I'm not a regular poster in this thread, but it is what got me started on the right track. (In the 2010 edition though) Today I squatted 3 x 6 x 90 kg rock bottom and afterwards talked to a girl who would not stop touching my abs and arms. Just wanted to check in, brag and say thank you OP =) Weight lifting has not only changed my physique and health, I have gained so much confidence and work ethic from it. Every man should do it.
Probably the worst workout I've had in my life occurred today. Had to deload by 30 pounds on power cleans after realizing how ugly my form was just to practice the whole thing. Then tried to do deadlifts as usual with 185lb. Lose my balance on the first rep of my first set, transition into minor knee pain. Thought I could tough it out because it was more of an annoyance than anything, couldn't even budge it for 2nd rep. Thankfully the guy next to me was kind enough to give me tips on how to improve my form. Ended up having to deload 40lb to continue the rest of my workout.

It's always better to use proper form at a much lighter load, than to use improper form.

Yeah, I came to that realization after cooling off away from the gym. If only I had a way to get help with form checking =[ my school's gym doesn't allow video or picture recording regardless of excuse.

In a perfect world we use perfect form, but you will never get as big and strong as possible if you shy away from higher weights because you don't want to use a little body english. At a training age of 1 or 2? , 140 lbs, and a 1x bodyweight squat, you should be doing a lot more eating/reading/listening keeping advice to a minimum.
So I'm looking for tips from all sources I can get about my running habits. I'll give you an background of what I've done so far.
Been running off and on for the past 3 years now since I've joined the army, primarily training for a 2mile run, my fastest was 14:33 a couple months ago.
Lately the weather has been getting really hot and dry during out running workouts like 100 degrees. We've been doing Distances up to 6+ miles, quarter mile sprints and 2-mile run for time in a week and we repeat that every week.
My problem is mainly during the distance runs but it effects all areas of the separate workouts. During the distance runs I've been getting these painful cramps in my sides usually just on one side but it may switch throughout the run, then my legs will become usually fatigue (more then what I'm used to) to a point where they feel like they are about to give out. I'm drinking a bottle of water after each workout, at each meal, and when I wake up. I want to get rid of these cramps but I don't know what could be the problem, any clues/hints/tips?
Adrenaline, don't take my word as gospel, but are you talking about the cramps commonly known as "stitches"? If so theres a ton of "theories" on why the pain happens (atleast that I've seen).
I know I rarely get them anymore however, when I concentrated on breathing in and out on my left foot. Something to do with the way your diaphragm/other ligaments expand when taking a breath, causing decreased space towards your spleen (again this is something i remember reading, although not positive).
I've also heard that it could be due to a lack of potassium, so eating a banana about an hour before may solve it too?
There is a ton of information available online though, if you search cure to stitches, or the like.

They had a small section on "Tofurkey," which for those who are unaware is a vegan meat substitute. The owner/founder of the company is leading the factory tour and the first thing he discusses are the ingredients which are: tofu, wheat gluten and canola oil. Talk about the holy trinity of unhealthy food products.
wait canola oil is bad?? I heard it was the best one to use for day to day use =(. What oil is preferred for cooking?
Olive oil, coconut oil, and butter are probably best... probably in that order too.
