Regarding nutrition: Right now I'm eating at 4,102' calories a day with about 264 grams of protein. It's a decent mixed diet, but for someone around 80kg's is this sufficient? I seem to be gaining weight and strength obviously. Other than that not much news for me, did 62.5kg squat today other than that most of my lifts are still pretty weak and needs to be pumped instead of pussying around in the training room. Fitday activity: Hehe. I think this should suffice. Just get enough sleep and kill your lifts and you'll pack on meat in no time. @Decaf: Rage training is best training. Damn fitocrazy doesn't think badminton is an activity... Finally getting my appetite back :D Time to get up to 95kg!!

#3325 Also trying to start off my snatches w/ upper back tight (shoulder blades pulled back) and it's letting me start my pull at like below parallel and the bar is staying very close to my body like touching my rib cage by the time i finish. This obviously gets harder to keep tight shoulders as the weights approach my max. Thoughts/comments dimsum drowsy anyone? Leaving for the 20 hour car ride to the biggest game(s) of my life tomorrow. Time to smash some newbs come saturday <3

#3331 I thought it was fairly common knowledge that increased cardio-vascular problems and heart disease is directly linked to the amount of meat an individual eats. That is why you see instances of heart disease and cardio-vascular problems so much higher in the West and nations that traditionally eat much larger quantities of meat. Dear lord. Eshlow didn't you post a study a while back showing the EXACT opposite? I also ran into "bodybuilders overdosing on protein". Sigh

Yay? :D I haven't lifted since last sunday. A week and a half, and I don't see myself getting to the gym until at least saturday. Been such a busy two weeks, I'm dying here. Listening to the music that I play when I lift (Dblock & s-te-fan, Deepack, wildestylez, etc. etc. Nothing gets you more pumped than a good hard bass line.) and it's driving me crazy. Need to move. I might go after my exam tomorrow just to blow off some steam, even though I should use the time to study for the next one. As far as V shape, if you're not born with those big wide shoulders (me) then I'd say lats and traps make the most progress towards your goal. Wide Grip Pull Ups, Heavy Rows, and deadlifts for the lats. Powercleans and deadlifts like a BOSS for the traps. Hell with shrugs, most useless exercise any bro has ever done. Worse than curlz. I've been wondering how to best progress on Dips BTW? I've only really progressed from doing 3/3/3 to doing 6/6/5 in all the time I've been lifting. I'll give that I've added significant body weight, but it still seems like terribly small increases. I don't feel exhausted when I finish them, and yet if I go for "one more rep" I fail at the bottom of the lift. What to do? Start weighting from here, and move up slowly? Do negatives? I'm still planning to add another 20 pounds by the end of august. (If I get back to being able to work my legs >_<) Hell with cutting for summer, I'll (hopefully) be volunteering in a hospital the whole time. I suppose that keeping my current reps and adding that much weight would technically be "progress" but it just feels so damn SLOW.

Unbelievable the kind of power they can generate at that weight.

Awesome read, came across it for my research paper Slight cliffs -Increase BNDF, NE, and 5-HT (Brain neutrophic factor, norepinephine, and serotonin respectively) -Decrease chance of Alzheimers(Significant vs. inactive people, see spoiler), depression, anxiety, and other psychological illnesses -Increases neurotransmittion in general -Helps with hippocampus (memory) and amygdala(Stuff) Cliffs of cliffs -lifting is badass My quotes for my paper, since their interesting + Show Spoiler + One of the most important effects of exercise is the effect on cognition. Exercise not only improves cognitive function in normal individuals, but also is associated with a lower risk for depression, AD and other types of neurodegenerative diseases.” (265) “Similarly, a prospective study also demonstrated that physical activity was protective against the development of cognitive impairment, AD, and any types of dementia, and that the highest activity group showed a 60% decrease in the incidence of AD.” (266) ---Inactive people had a 250% increased chance of Alzheimer's. “Studies on humans and animal models also suggest that moderate voluntary physical exercise might attenuate some of the cognitive symptoms and mitigate the psychological disorders Dunno how many people will like it. I did. Thought I'd share lol
