Final workout plan designed for my goals: Day One: Stretch Power cleans: 10 singles with 5-6 of them heavy + warm-ups and technique work Back squats: 5 sets of 5 reps + warm-ups Overhead press: 3 sets of 5 reps + warm-ups Chin-ups: 3 sets of 5 reps Hyperextensions: 3 sets of 10 reps Stretch Day Two: Stretch Power snatch: 10 doubles with 5-6 of them heavy + warm-ups and technique work Front squats: 5 sets of 5 reps + warm-ups Dumbbell bench press: 3 sets of 5 reps + warm-ups Dead lift: 1 set of 5 reps + warm-ups Ab work 75 reps Stretch Day Three: Stretch ATG cleans: 10 singles with 5-6 of them heavy + warm-ups and technique work Overhead squats: 5 sets of 5 reps + warm-ups Overhead press: 3 sets of 5 reps + warm-ups Shrugs: 5 sets of 8 reps + warm-ups Ab work 75 reps Stretch This is a combination of a group of lifting programs, plus a little bit of chest work included. I like doing singles and doubles on the clean/snatch, and I've included all three types of squats... I know how anal I'm being about perfecting this program, but I can't stand the thought of working on a sub-optimal system. As for progression, I'm thinking I'll add weight every session at first--something like 5kg/session when I start and then lower it down to 2.5kg/session when that gets hard. I'd go for full snatches, preferably starting from the hang or high hang and working your way down so you can work on getting your hips and traps into it. The full snatches will work your hip/leg/ shoulder flexibility and strength a lot more (well obv you need more hip drive to power snatch but yeah) I'd ditch the shrugs. Your traps should be getting a lot of work as is and if you want more trap work i'd do snatch or clean pulls. Personally i havent done abs/core work since my si joint stopped bothering me. I'm sure its useful if you're not doing something stupid like crunches, but my core has gotten rock solid and given me a decent set of abs just from snatch/clean jerking/squatting. I should probably incorporate some, maybe when i have more time over the summer. edit: At this point i just check the vegan thread for laughs. "too much protein isn't as unhealthy for you like too much fat" "extreme athletes should avoid red meat" "Don't worry about planning out a vegan diet, just eat a bunch and you'll be fine" and eating meat being compared to drinking radioactive water and advocating diets based around pancakes, pasta, pizza, and other starches.

Even if they do read the studies, they're not capable of understanding the material in them because if they were, they would get off their insane vegan diets immediately. Honestly, it takes a serious brain defect to intentionally live a vegan lifestyle for health reasons. If you want to do so for personal morality reasons, then by all means go ahead; absolutely nobody can argue against your desire to live a vegan lifestyle because you feel the meat industry is screwed up. But, if you come preaching soy and grains--the two single worst staple food crops in the history of mankind--you deserve to be laughed out of our thread of carnivores. TL Health and Fitness 2011: Pussy Vegans Not Welcome I don't think there are any good reasons for being a vege/vegan except maybe religious. And even with religious I don't really respect that either. I don't think there are any religions out there that are 100% abstain from any kind of meat, and it really comes down to just a person choice. And you know how people can make dumb choices. Morality/ethically there is no leg to stand on. meat eating made us human, meat is high resource containing, and has many vits/minerals that we need to thrive, we have the teeth structure for omnivore (which is more like carnivores than herbivores), etc. Dozens of reasons why we should eat meat and should continue to. environmentally... again sustainable agriculture can be more productive than traditional mass farming. If you don't support the meat industry then join your local CSA? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community-supported_agriculture Fresh fruits/vegetables/meats/milk/eggs/etc. Ethically raised, by sustainable agriculture. Help your local economy, etc. Personally, i think most of these people get off on their own self righteousness. If you have any sort of common sense for where we have come from as humans then there is no question that there is no good reason for avoiding eating meat.

Use low weights/volume to practice perfect technique and you will be there in no time. I am 90% sure if u can break that plateau by doing the following: Monday: 80kg x5,x3,x2 Tuesday: 90kg x5,x3,x2 Wednesday: 100kg x5, x3, x2 Thursday: 70kg x5, x3, x2 Friday: off Saturday: 112,5 x as many as u can, new PR record. Important: The goal from monday to thursday is to practice perfect technique and maximal tension generation. Do not try to gas out, train to failure, and do not feel a wimp for lifting so few. DO NOT DO ANY OTHER LEG/ABS EXERCISES THAT WEEK, u'll appreciate it when u easily do 112,5 reps. 112kg squat should be really easy with proper technique unless u weight 55kg or smth.

Bench Press: 165lbs(+5) 3-5-5-5 I totally failed the first set, but after the 3rd set I said "fuck it I know I can do a proper 5-5-5". EZ bodyweight Bench imo. Starting to feel like my muscles are gassed after going Sat-Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs @ the gym. Going to go back to Sat-Tues-Wed-Thurs next week (or maybe Sat-Mon-Wed-Thurs...) Hope I'll be replenished enough to do 255lb squat (+10), 100lb M.Press and 285lbs D.lift (+10) on saturdayayayayayaya
