I also like sword and board, esp vs a lot of the mobs. If DS2 has iframes then I don't understand why the fuck I couldn't ever dodge anything after playing DS1. I just made the jump that they made it better since they removed the 100% damage block shields, You also could just have bad timing, I'm not sure I only bothered to play maybe 2 hours of it before I ended up getting lost and not caring. I didn't like 2, everything about it was just off, not sure how to put it, but it didn't feel "right". Yeah same here pretty much but more because I kept dying to stuff that I should have easily been able to avoid/dodge. Like with DS1 I could tell that I was doing it wrong before i learned, but with DS2 it looks like my timing is right and I'd still constantly get hit.

Also not going to bother playing any tonight, but you can PM me if you have questions regarding stuff, unless you level resistance at all, if you do that, you can suffer. I will purposefully lead you to your death if you do that.
If you liked sword and board that's probably why Bloodborne just didn't carry as much appeal. I tended to favor parrying and rolling more though, and it's just far superior in every way for that playstyle unless you just absolutely hate the setting/environment differences. Movement is far smoother, more responsive, faster; I tried playing some Dark Souls over the weekend because watching a stream made me want to, but I just couldn't.
Maybe after I've put down Bloodborne for awhile there won't be an immediate feel of sluggishness, but right now it's definitely there.

getting stuffed pack for moving is giving me all this nostalgia. all these feels, muh first mix cd, doom ii on floppy disk, all much pirated games on cd's, etc etc.
nostalgia fagging pretty hard.

It's just the timings are maybe different. I played Demons Souls first, and for my first bit with DS1 I had a helluva time dodging too, I figure it's just the same thing from DS1 to DS2. Or maybe it's all in my head, I unno.

Completely unrelated question am I the only person who fakes embarrassment when getting complimented IRL? It's not like me and it feels really awkward but I've heard it said that that's people's preferred reaction
|
I have 0 idea how you're supposed to react to a compliment besides say thank you, it never feels genuine cause i rarely feel like I do anything that's praise worthy so I just say thanks and move on.

I usually do the, "uhhhhhhhh, okay. thanks, i guess"

I feel like I need to update league and play a duo with Jeff or soniv.

What you need to do is hang out with us here in OT/in stream chats/in games more often. A bunch of us have been having the distinct feeling that OT is getting smaller lately, which to me seems substantially for the worse, and you not being here doesn't help.

So, I went to a funeral in Bali.
It was odd, but also fun.
Basically the family buried the dead uncle, then laid a picnic blanket over the grave and ate fried chicken on top of him and made me join in. + Show Spoiler +I am legit serious that's what they did. I watched them dig a hole, bring the body with this big funeral procession, then they put him in said hole, filled it up, then put a blanket over the grave, put all these ceremonial food offerings of like cakes and fried chicken on there, said a prayer, and then the whole family huddled over the grave and ate the offerings and chatted and laughed and had a great time. They wanted me to take pictures and while I was taking pictures of what was basically a picnic this old woman sat me down, handed me a chicken leg and said "EAT".
Was fun.

I guess it's best to remember the dead with happy feelings and happy memories. Gone, but not forgotten.

PX wouldnt't leave us forever. I haven't had a chance to play slip yet.... right guys?
So lately my sleep has been shit pretty consistently. I went for years being high every night and never dreaming. Now that I am relatively cleaner (only smoking/drinking on weekends, most the time) I start dreaming even before I fall asleep. I mean my mind feels like its working a mile a minute as im drifting off. just going over impossible situations/made up stuff. And it feels like the dreams just go on all night. Most of them are okay relatively but often exceptionally bizarre. Then at least once every night I have nightmares about horrible creatures. and a recurring theme is losing my mobility. Like losing control of my legs and arms and collapsing in embarrassing/dangerous situations and being unable to get up or even cry out. I toss and turn and sweat all night and see every hour on the clock and wake up after too many snoozes feeling frustrated and stressed out. I could easily lay down for a nap any time of day for the past few weeks. Days that i gym are only marginally better and maybe that's just in my head. Is this withdraw? the dreams are somewhat lucid often and sometimes I will just nope myself awake. Can I train my mind to dream about more pleasant things? Should I try something like melatonin or sleeping drugs? It's getting to the point where my muscles are sore from lack of rest. I would spend an embarrassing amount of money if someone guaranteed me 8hrs of uninterrupted sleep.

Hmm...
I too have weird, vivid dreams, and I remember them most nights (last night, I dreamed I was in jail, we were in a community space watching some girls dance, and the guy sitting in front of me nicknamed me "Vision" *shrug*). I don't often get nightmares though. If you're able to realize you're dreaming while it's happening, you can instantly gain control of it.
I would suggest trying some meditation and/or lucid dream training. Back in college I was interested in trying lucid dreaming, and while I was only successful once or twice, I've had incredibly memorable dreams as a result. /r/luciddreaming is a decent source
Or, yeah, it could just be withdrawls lol

Bravely Default 2, huh? Yangers, need a change of pants? Or MB? Or both?

Iirc they weren't that fond about it in the end because of how absurdly breakable the system was? (Music's good though.)
