Nice article. I remember taking biostatistics and the morale of the class was that health studies are almost always garbage to find real correlation or causation. For example for cancer, smoking was like the only real correlation cuz it was like 4000% correlated. Other stuff is way less in the double digits only.
Btw dunno if any of you guys play Heroes of the Storm. I just started it. Valla is like a Vayne with Ashe volley (no slow though) and a Katarina ult (you can tumble doing).
i love neil degrasse tyson's tweet about dieting. something to the effect of "a physicists diet book would be only one sentence long: consume calories at a lower rate than you burn them"
thats why im eating these shitty ass 400cal lunches and going to bed hungry every night I think its working tho. cutting out snacks is the hardest......

Sometimes daily quests are what get you and that's ok.

The seductiveness of how maths "proves" things is not just limited to economics! From an epistomological perspective, the scientific method has been one of the most important tools we have developed. And crucial to this is the testing phase. In modern times, a lot of this means things like clever use of statistics to determine if results are relevant on a statistical level as well as meta analysis (i.e. analysis of a large number of studies themselves).
Unfortunately.... well, this blog post on Star Slate Codex does a far better job of explaining it than I ever could. (Star Slate Codex is also a really good blog btw)
It's a long but I recommend everyone read it. Well worth the time.
ugh... wanting a burrito but only getting a burrito bowl is ultimate willpower test.... yes i desperately want cheese but pls don't put it on.... I gotta work out more so i can eat more.

I did a quick calculation and under the assumption that I level all currently available heroes to 20 it will take roughly 235 days to farm sufficient gold to purchase all the current heroes.
The tricky question is how much of the roughly 11730g per month I'll make on average will be essentially negated by the release of new heroes. It's likely that it will take twice that long or more to actually "catch up".
Speaking of leveling and time investments, I've been having a really good time just playing WoW and leveling characters. No stress of gearing, no schedule to stick to, just going to zones that I've not leveled through or have and really enjoy.

Fortunately, Witcher 3 has seemed to cure that itch I was feeling.
