One day I asked Shelke if he worked normal job hours. He goes "yeah, I go to work in the morning, do some routes, sell some stuff, and come home around 3" as if it was a totally normal thing.
I'm not sure if that's a more normal thing in Canada, but that's far from normal in Murika

I just woke up. I start night shift tonight, which shouldn't interrupt TLLOLOTGDDGN. I have friday off so it shouldn't be too bad.

Sometimes things are just ok and good and life is alright despite things like work.

Well, I understand the 8-5 is considered standard but 7-3 is probably the next in line for standard work hours
Just a bit odd right now cause I'm covering someone who lives far enough to be considered a long drive but not worth it to hotel it up

7-3 is what I should work with my job, but since it's maintenance and my boss likes to gives up hours/days off, it's usually 7-5, unless we are working for the State or County, in which case we have to work 8 hours a day, if it's a long job or 10 at max if it's short. Because $45~/hour for manual labor is OP and they dont like having to give too much overtime. Last year I was working 50 hours as an average, with it being common to hit near 55-60 most weeks.
I've also worked 4:30 to 11, 5:30 to 2, and 6 to 3, but that was when I worked on a Golf Course near me.
7-3 is probably between the most common and second most common shift time, just because of factories, DPW, DoT, and the like.

Friends please advise:
Is there a term for constructions that combine two different phrases/things, sharing a word(s) in the middle?
E.g. Wheel of Fortune’s “Before and After” category, or the lyrics in “Part III. Full Circle” of Dream Theater’s Octavarium (song, not album).
Google has failed me. This seems like the kind of thing where there's some obscure Greek term or something. If there's not someone needs to get on that and coin one.

Is there any good reason Wednesdays aren't holidays? Think of how relaxing every week would be with a day off to split up the week.
Seriously, will the world descend into anarchy if the work week was four days instead of five? Why do people want to work so much?

I haven't met any TLers in real life. I have a suspicion red and I grew up near each other but I haven't found an opportunity to bring it up in a non-creepy way....

I'm not sure. How common of a thing is this outside of the English language?

For lack of a better example, something like "Oven Mitt Romney". Wheel of Fortune obviously has much better examples, but I'm lazy and not creative.

I don't think anyone wants to work as much as we do. Also, I know I can often be less productive on the day I come back from not having work (cuz I need to acclimate my brain again), or on a day that I know I don't have work the next day. Imagine if it was a 4 day work week comprised of only those types of days!

"Wheel of fortune cookie," for example, is a combination of "Wheel of Fortune" and "fortune cookie."
"Sailing on the seven seize the day," for example is a combination of "sailing on the seven seas" and "seize the day," utilizing homophones.
I've been wondering this for years I just never voiced the question. I have posted on Facebook I really hope there actually is a term for this :3

... no that would be Wheel of fortune. fortune cookie

Puns is the best answer I can give.
I think homophonic pun is probably the best way to describe it.

well german has compound words but you seem to be describing combining phrases instead of words

Yeah, that's the closest I've found so far :|

it's more than a pun
it can either be double phrasing through double entendre or homophones
