I think he has a better shot than HM since it's a ZvZ

This series will be fun but it feels like the warmup for Maru Serral

Hey don't sleep on Bunny!
(Jk, he's super dead)

Might go back to hotel after Maru tbh especially if he loses, it’s gonna end up after midnight or something :x

Low passion.

This horrible stalemate / long death animation killed my passion, especially if Maru doesn’t save the tournament with a victory versus Serral

That was a really great series with a brilliant level from both players, so if it was torture for you, then your passion was dead to begin with.

To be fair there's nothing quite as crushing a seeing your favorite lose while in the middle of an hostile crowd

And being casted by people who support the other side.

Demuslim was on the verge of saying he wanted to make love to Dark, what cast were you watching?

Reynor is amazing, Reynor is the best, look at this young italian, Reynor did that... etc. As it seems we have different view on this matter.

This is how every top prodigy is talked about, Maru gets talked about this way too

I do feel like it's a bit different since a lot of the foreigner are friends (or at least friendly) with the casters and whatnot.

You know, like Reynor went to spend his holiday at Rotti, while I'd be surprise any of the casters even know Dark name. (And no one would be able to hold a conversation with him obviously)

Not saying it's a bad thing, but it certainly change the casting dynamic a bit, but again it's a foreing tournament and I'm certainly not blaming the casters for having friends lol

On another subject, the zvz was great for me

It’s a ZvZ, if it was a TvT people would be praising it as an exhibition of positional play and defensive resolve

yeah idk what ppl are talking about, that was a great game. constant action and lots of interesting strategic things happening and everything on the line and the big basic question "how will this scenario go this time?".

obv if you were cheering hard for Dark it's very understandable to be upset, but that's a different question

Definitely wouldn't call that close to constant action. Viper's abducting is not a proper skirmish or battle in my opinion.

It is true that at times we were wondering "how would it play out" - but that had more to do with how game 2 played out and us wondering whether Dark could repeat it. If you just evaluate this game by itself - e.g. if it was a ladder game - we would all have agreed it was shit.

Personally I was entertained by the game and very much enjoyed the series as a whole, but that had more to do with the stakes + narrative and not the actual game quality.

Nail-biting push, but Solar's dead now.
I bear this sig to commemorate the loss of the team icon that commemorated Oversky's 2008-2009 Proleague Round 1 performance.

Yeah 100%

Even aside from the friends aspect, a decent chunk of the casting talent are ex pros, or otherwise high level players who’ve been competing against these guys for years now

I’m ok with a little bias as long as it’s not totally ridiculous. Artosis’ clear contempt for Patience’s style and veneration of Stats always added something to his casts

If that was a ladder game I would've been thoroughly impressed as well.

That was such a cool game 2. Timing pushes are the best :-)

Gabe has definitely shown a lot of strong timing pushes. I'm very impressed by how he's consistently making it work. Clem probably puts a bit too much focus on his mechanical prowess.

Edit: This game his standard play looks solid as well.

Clem mostly tries to brute force his way with his mechanics, which are very dependant on his current form, a little bit slower and his style just does not work, but when on his day he looks untouchable. HM is more about solid gameplan and decisions, never stellar, always solid, always improving bit by bit.
