Game one Zoun was almost dead but turn it around in the long run. Game 2 (or 3?) was a failed cannon-void rush.
Game 3 (or 2) was on that map with the two main at the bottom, Zoun tried to go for some kind of 2 base timmjg with a gold and quick blink, didn't work and he got run over.
Game 4 was a tank push into gg

Thanks! Do you think Zoun could have won?

Lol even Maru has forgotten about it apparently. Maru trying to not remind Serral how hard be trolled him in that series lol. He certainly butchered him, although I dunno if Serral had quite ascended to his final form.
I’m hoping, and almost certainly won’t get a TvZ for the ages between these two to offset the death of Protoss.
Last time I had that hope it was Maru playing Rogue in that Code S final and we all know how that one went haha

Lol even Maru has forgotten about it apparently. It’s because Serral had not reached his peak 2018 form yet /s With this mappool and jet lag I don’t think Maru can win but maybe he can take one map The terran hope for no 4 zergs in ro4 is HeroMarine since Solar is by far the easiest zerg and is vulnerable to random builds in the early game. Big Gabe smart builds could work vs him

That's one of the things that might actually get me hyped up about this tournament again.

That's great of you to think Ryung's even going to last that long

maybe it makes me a bad person but I absolutely want to see Rogue destroy someone today in the absolute most disgusting way possible

Oh, it's never going to happen. The reason I'm actually still here is to see what happens with Heromarine/Solar's part of the bracket. If a Zerg has to win, I'd like to at least see it be Solar.

Watching this makes me realize how much I missed live events. I want to go watch some live SC2 with some nerds in 2022.

If Rogue manages to pass this stage but lose in the quarterfinal, does he quickly become the first one to crack 1 million total earnings, just as Feardragon said before?

I think he already did it with the 10k$ he earned on this match. Maru just did it 10 minutes ago too, if Liquipedia is to be beleive

They pay out at the end of the tournament I'm guessing. According to liquipedia Maru will pass it even if he loses the next match. And Rogue will pass it if he just beats Ryung

It's not just Heromarine's late game that is weak against Protoss, pretty much all the pro Terrans are weak against late game Protoss, if the Protoss player has a decent late game like Trap or Stats. We just saw that Maru can't really beat late game Protoss either when he lost to Zoun in the late game yesterday. IMO, it's just Zest that doesn't have a great PvsT late game because Zest has always relied on timing attacks. Cure won GSL Season 3 because he knew Zest wasn't good at PvsT late game, so Cure just defended Zest's all-ins. In the same GSL Season 3, Cure knew that Trap was unbeatable in PvsT late game so Cure did timing attacks on Trap to stop him from getting there.
If you look at Protoss as a whole, Protoss have been winning a lot of Premier level tournaments from 2020 to 2022. Zest just won the last GSL Super Tournament. And Trap won 6 Premier level tournaments in the last 1.5 years, including TSL 7, Next S1, 2021 GSL Super Tournament 1, DH Last Chance 2021, 2021 GSL Super Tournament 2, 2020 GSL Super Tournament 2: liquipedia.net. Also, from 2020 to 2022, Zest got 2nd place multiple times in Premier level tournaments, so he was in the position to win it.
Finally, the top 50 EU GM was 68% Protoss when I checked about 2 months ago (I counted 34 Protoss in the top 50 EU GM). I think the % of Protoss in the top 50 EU GM has dropped since then, but it's still very high. EU ESL Cup week in and week out is dominated by Protoss entries. That would be very bad for the future pro scene if the makeup of the top 50 EU GM slanted even more Protoss.
