Watch Soulkey against PartinG from the KeSPA cup. you have to pull apart the Protoss army and punish the early storm transition. If you kill the third base of the Protoss its almost impossible for them to win a macro game.
A lot of burrowed roach play and roach/hydra timings are very popular to punish the early templar transitions.

you can do aggressive roach pushes early on, later on hope you can get out r/h/v to not die to the first push, and then hope you can get out broodlords for the next one
at least that's how I see pros play

Of course, I fully agree. But when you do have HTs in the late game, behind a beefy army, they do actually wreck everything besides Ultras. Saying they are only good vs Hydra/Ling and maybe stacked up corruptrs is a bit much  .

As the main tech option I meant! But yeah, there's basically no situation where I wouldn't want storm to support my army, except lategame PvP.
