Good luck on your next qualifier Elfi, and have fun in Premier league San.
It's not quite lucifron level yet
Why do people always mention Luci, when talking about Hype? Flash got more hype and barely half of Lucis earnings, should´nt he be the prime example for that?
Are you seriously comparing LucifroN to the most successful Brood War player of all time? If you bring up earnings, it's safe to say FlaSh used to make in a year more than Luci did in his entire career, I don't know about his current contract but yeah there's that.
Past success is a good reason for hype, just saying.
Aaaaand you've been identified as a brood war elitist (by me, also because of your post in that other thread ) - though I think hyping up people for past achievements is wrong at a certain point. It is viable for Flash since he's rocking Proleague, but you wouldn't hype up Nestea, would you?
I wouldn't hype NesTea up for the sole reason that I believe a lot of his success comes from bracket luck in the GSL, him being pitted numerous times against opponents who frankly did not belong in that tournament to begin with (and as a result when the format was changed they dropped off completely).
If you want to compare FlaSh being literally the best player in the entire game and asserting his dominance as a top competitor for years, to NesTea owning people like TheWinD, Ensnare, Kyrix, Zenio, HongUn and the list goes on, then...
Well, Nestea has played a perfect Season once, which is something Flash was never able to do in all his MSL/OSL/WCG victories. In overall esport, I think we all can agree, that Flash is more relevant, although Nestea laughs at him in SC2.
Regardless of that, that was´nt the point to begin with - you said that "past success is a good reason for hype". I can agree on that. If in the next two years Nestea retires and later comes back, he would generate a lot of hype as well. The thing with hype is that it is something that happens before actual events and then just gets evaluated after them. Thus a reasonable hype can justify itself or reveal itself as overhype. So I agree with you on all your points, people had all the right in the world to hype Flash. We still know, that the hype was´nt justified know, though.
