One brief Code S appearance, and a top 16 at NASL season 4
He lost to HerO. In the winter. Give the guy a break.
(HerO won NASL)
my point was that he is not exactly a well-known korean, even when he was finale he was just another protoss. I'd be cool with him winning it all if I knew he was actually going to stick around and be a top contender but too many korean players win a tournament and then disappear entirely so it makes their tournament victory look weaker, not trying to take away the well-earned win.

He is not a no-name, people know who Finale is if they've watched GSTL and GSL.
If name is based off results like he said, wouldnt that make nearly every foreigner a no name?
I.... I guess so.
I think it exposes how ridiculous it is for people to say people are known by results alone. FFS, only one guy can win every tournament. It's not like there's one a week and it's common to be a champion.

Well maybe that's the thing. Korea is such a hard place to compete that it's always gonna be hard to make a name for yourself there. Finale hasn't had the chance to attend a lot of tournaments, he played in NASL because it was online (and demolished his group). This is his first real chance to show himself and his personality like this.

Why is that a suprise when we know most Foreigners aren't even code A. Sorry.

And of course with how the brackets are there will only be 2 foreigners advancing to Season 2 finals. To join the possible 3 WCS AM foreigners to make... 5 of 16 players non korean max in the season finals.
While I love watching Korean's play, and the top of the top and all that jazz, I'd like to see players of the actual region advancing to represent that region. Obvious exceptions include SEA and Chinese guys who don't have a region of their own to come from
I believe it will be 3... Vortix or Grubby + the two placement matches as the Finals is in Europe (Welmu v Hasu, Naniwa vs Grubby/Vortix)... a total of 6 foreigners is pretty decent. I'm a merit guy and love to watch the best StarCraft possible and there's no questions on where you'll find that! It's Korea
Ahh yes I forgot about that. And to get into the latter half of your post is another discussion entirely. The whole "while the top level is in Korea now (and probably forever), the current system doesn't help the other AM or EU players get to that level ever. Just another avenue for them to get beat down".
I'm really looking forward to 2014 and the changes they will make to WCS. Hoping for a "must live in the country/stay a particular amount of time there a year" rule. So players like Polt/Demuslim/Stardust/Jjakji(for 2014), or Violet if he ever gets that stuff straightened out, could still play in AM/EU because because they live there.
And then of course make an exception that players with no local WCS region (China/SEA/Pandatank) can play in whatever region they choose, as Blizzard didn't make a region for them

But... but... someone said he was a no-name!
Someone not following the Korean scene said he was a no name! Trust the man, he must be an authority on the matter
