Although Jaedong lost the series as much as- if not more than- Stardust won it.
I think there were quite a few people cheering for Stardust. A lot of the protoss people and some others obviously less than were cheering for jaedong but he still had some supporters. It's fun to root for the underdog too if you have no other preference for the finalists which was my case
yeah I think there were a decent amount that didn't care that much, like myself.
I was going into the final kinda bored since there was no terran, german, foreigner to root for, almost decided to turn off the stream but didnt regret that ive stayed. I was going from indifferent to rooting for stardust so hard on that final match.. so intense!
hmm i don't know many german players (are they any good(y)?) And I have actually never seen an impressive foreign T since SC2 besides the cheese days (does that say something about how hard the race is to play?)
I personally agree, terrans are more fun to watch (they can only win with multiple harassement, multituasking, perfect micro and good macro), but I am glad no terran won, so no "OP-Terran" whining
I remember one of the first proleague matches in SC2, the hybrid proleague, Air Force Ace vs Samsung Khan M18M played Roro and went full Sky Toss from the get go

Honestly he could turn out more like the new Life. Good for a while but not too amazing and then suddenly he's winning shit all over the place.
lol what? Life was the first Zerg to actually micro properly, to save units and ressources to finally overpower the opponent. When I first saw him play I just said "aha, a Zerg who plays like Terran always had to play, if he can combine it with typical Zerg play, he will win tournaments". And he did. With amazing skills in every part of his play. Just shows much potential the Zerg race still has. Still it isn't used because it isn't needed for the win (yet). When the game is more and more figured out, the very best Zerg will play like Life. I am looking forward to it, cause he is one of only a few Zerg players that are actually entertaining to watch. And no: although Stardust might have some skill, there is a huge gap between him and Life. Life is one of the best Zerg, Stardust is good, he won dreamhack, ok. I give him that. Would he have won in a straight up macro game with mechanics, multitasking, micro... or did he win because of his cheese/allin. Doesn't really matter because a win is a win, still the way of the victory is different if you compare Life to Stardust. The ladder one will not reach Life. But if he does, I owe you a beer

I agree. Other tournaments should take notes, MLG especially.
I think DH can actually make it a bit better. Players still look totally clueless as what to do with the cheques, the star plaque and champagne. Maybe we need something like a victory road. The CEO always has to orchestrate it. Maybe he should prep them prior to the finals as to what is going to happen after one of them win.
If they prep hollywood pros for that kind of thing, surely should be a requirement for a bunch o nerds
What does hollywood pro's have anything to do with this? It's really not that complicated and Life's cockiness is his true downfall.

SC2 is getting better, and impressed me with variety of good maps and improved spectator UI, great Nathanias caster, as already countlessly mentioned in this thread, and overall production value, but I still can't get into the game.
I haven't seen any with more than 4 bases and steady 20 minutes macro game without BO advantage for one side. And too many mistakes: both strategically and mechanically (mostly at multitasking) wise that I haven't seen when I was following BW.
I'd try once more at SPL finals, have they increased the numbers since WoL? I feel like it's hard for new viewers to get interested when they randomly come across Dreamhack broadcast on the Swedish TV with so fast-paced games. Maybe they should have run a basic introduction to the game before the tournament too.
Well JD always makes his ZvP interesting because he just finds so many ways to lose it's getting out of hand. The funny thing is he went more old school than anything else rather than utilizing air units.
Yeah, I got BW vibes from his games. With Toss constantly warping units near Zerg's base (or not having any detection against Dark templars last game) it doesn't seem as efficient as it was in glory days of past, though.
