I have never even followed bw, but given this group. i knew for a fact that roro is making it out, just was not sure first or second. some good games today, looking forward to ro8. SKT fan Didn't follow Brood War Does not compute On a more serious note, I feel it is unfair to say "I knew for a fact that X" after X has already happened. I mean, RorO is obviously really good, especially in ZvZ - I'll willingly admit that, but "Knowing for a fact" that he'll advance from a group with the world's best Zerg and the player with, arguably, the best PvZ in the world seems a bit far-fetched. Care to share your reasoning? Right, a quick explanation. SKT1 tag is my friends doing, he said I have to use it on TL if they win against KT in PL (round 2 obviously). Not a fan of either of these teams specifically, but I was sure (and wrong) that KT had that match. Roro is pretty self explanatory. He has been on fire recently, winning everything he plays, and if life can get 4-0 by soulkey (currently number 3-5 best player in WJS by pl results), I was pretty much 100% sure roro would beat both zergs in his group. Then there is parting, kind of a tossup, but considering that he is only eligible to play in PL when HotS hits + SKT currently will need him to deliver like desert needs water. Thus i assume Parting is not doing WoL 100% nowadays given kespa pressures, so I thought roro would also be strongly favored there.

I know that a lot of people wanted him to fail for a while because success would be seen as proof for the elephant theory. - SlayerS was seen as falling under the eSF umbrella in terms of eSF vs KeSPA, but was not an eSF team. Same for Axiom. - It seems less of a stretch to call PartinG a KeSPA player than Taeja a foreign player by virtue of their teams. - Almost all good players on eSF teams were pro-gamers on KeSPA teams in the past. - The elephant in the room article implied that there would be a linear connection between Brood War skill and SC2 skill. In this sense, are cjhero, t8-cure and wjs-sos elephants? They were nobodies before SC2. I would propose that we only talk about eSF vs KeSPA in the context of two sets of teams that both have their own team league. It's fun to speculate about how well they would do against each other and who is going to win out in the end. What I would also suggest is to stop caring about whether the achievements of individual players reflect anything, such as the organisation they are part of. PartinG's wins don't reflect on KeSPA at all, nor do they on eSF, it's just an individual player doing very well. I would propose to let people get their freedom on the internet, and not have some rules like: "we only talk about eSF vs KeSPA in the context of two sets of teams..." We already have too many social rules in our lives. Flash said in his recent interview there is no difference between Kespa and eSF players, enough is enough and I know most everyone is tired of reading that crap in these threads. i see a lot of people misunderstood flash's words here. what he only meant by that is that it makes no difference whether a player is kespa or esf, he will crush them all :D

It isn't because he was the top BW player, but it is because he was the top tier progamer and thus has the experience of excelling in that profession. Especially compared to players who had no such experience (or success in it) pre-SC2, and even now for the most part don't practice in an equally professional environment. So Flash would be a top tier CS 1.6 player because he was a top tier 'progamer'? Were Bogus, Roro, Soulkey the top progamers as well. What about Moon and Grubby? Weren't they top tier 'progamers'? Are you so dense that the similarity between BW and SC2 had nothing to do with the expectations? The answer is simple, they don't have the passion for the game because they don't like it as much as their old games. EDIT: The elephant theory is based on the assumption that all of the kespa progamers would upheld their fighting spirit from BW and directly translate it over to SC2 and thus will work just as hard as BW. But it doesn't take into account of what happens if most of the kespa pros are not that satisfied with the game but only hanging around to do bare minimum for a living? They won't definitely not try their best and thus leading to worse results. That factor completely flew over many people's head.

![]() And the Parting vs. Life matches reminded me of Rock-paper-scissors at the start. So many mindgames without scouting. First Parting was too stubborn to change his WonWonWon up and got rolled by hydras twice, then Life should have anticipated that Parting is finally rushing Collosus. Final game was just great defending by Parting and Life missed the transition to brood/inf although he had plenty of time ... Quarterfinal-MatchUps are great! GG
