MVP had a lot of map visibility and that didnt feel right for my taste; kinda makes scanning less necessary.

Spider Mines were pretty much the same back in the day, and that wasn't much of a problem.

It is more like burrow lings/banes which a lot of zergs do for vision and denying expansions

Maybe the vision range on them should be reduced but you will still need a lot of scans (high ground, base scan etc) if not more due to swarm hosts and other widow mines.

Maybe decrease shield and increase damage? I think that'd make the immortal a pretty interesting unit and immortal drops could be pretty awesome if they did more damage at the cost of having less life, but could dodge shots using the warp prism. Immortals already 2 shot workers. If they could 1 shot them, it would be kind of OP.

You can still run lings around as long as you have a 'scouting' ling in front. But yeah, mutas harass is going to be very risky.

To check for and clear Widow Mines so as not to lose your units, you will need to move as slow as an overseer, which completely negates the mobility advantage of Mutas or Lings. One scouting Ling does nothing. Widow Mines have no overkill. If there are 3-4 mines, 1 ling activates only one of them, and they recharge eventually anyway.
