Judging by this, you obviously didn't watch the semifinals

Thanks MLG for a great event, really enjoyed it. The only issue I guess was that a lot of interesting matches were not streamed, but that's probably hard to avoid with so many matches and great players.

yes , I missed Flash vs Life :S

Flash played great and placed well! This is only the beginning.
Leenock sure loves MLG. This is his what, 3rd finals in a row?
Great run by Life as well. Watching the infestor wars though is getting boring.I guess at this point we just need to hold our breaths for HoTS to get a new start on the game.

I don't think Leenock built a single Broodlord in his semi Final. Bomber got crushed by Roaches and please don't tell me Roaches are op in ZvT... They're not! On the other hand, there's Life who DID build BL/Infestor, but the games were over before that. Zerg just has some difficulty to end a game without those units, even if they have an advantage - and Life completely outclassed Flash and inflicted terrible amounts of damage to Flash before the "unstoppable army" was out. In fact, not a single map in the semi finals was a "routine Brood/Infestor win" (Ok, maybe one between Life and Flash). Both matches, the Zerg played terribly agressive and just completely destroyed the Terran from early to late game. Nothing to whine about tbh. If the Terran loses everything (army or SCV's... Sometimes both) over and over again before Brood/Infestors are out, you should really not whine about this unit composition. There might be some Zerg who play terribly boring, but Leenock and Life are definitely not. True that.. I'm sick of the composition myself, but Flash was just completely destroyed in this series, not by an army composition but by the player. So it's definately not a good example to proof a point when it comes to BL/infestor..

Life starting to look like the new Jerg King.

Very enjoyable games. Especially happy to see plenty of late-run Terrans in the mix.

or maybe the next God , he's following Flash steps, started at a very young age, already 2 major wins under his belt.... , too early but who knows

Flash vs Life one of the best TvZ i've seen a while.

looks like the usual, the guy who wins gsl goes to america to win mlg as well... life's great games and success lead me only to the question:
"Is he the next zerg bonjwa!?!"

Can someone explain how MLG brackets work? specifically in round 7-10 http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2012_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Fall/Championship#Championship_Bracket
First off, I am a fighting game player so I'm used to traditional double elimination brackets. What I saw was not a double elimination bracket.
Flash and Life are both still in the winners bracket and flash wins that match and sends Life to losers bracket to play against Heart, which he wins. Why then following immediately after that match does Flash play Life AGAIN rather than playing against Leenock who is also still in winners bracket? A normal bracket would have Life and Bomber playing in the losers bracket while flash and Leenock player in the winners finals. This bracket, however, makes no sense.
Basically what i'm trying to say is why did flash have to play the same person two times in a row? That should NEVER happen. I'm not talking about continuation, I'm talking about the brackets.
The only explanation i can think of is that each half of the bracket (top and bottom) had their own winners, losers, and grand finals, with the two winners of that going on to the ultimate grand finals of the entire tournament (leenock and life). If that is the way they do it, then that is a very bad way to run a bracket.

Can't believe I missed the second half of Flash vs Life. Fuck me. T.T

Awesome tournament, though i didnt watch ZvZ T_T

Basically, there are two double elimination brackets - the top one and the bottom one. It's kind of strange, but the main "advantage" of it is that the grand finals are a fresh series (not extended as the players couldn't have played against each other prior to that) and none of the players needs to have an advantage because they both won their bracket. There is also no 3rd place match which does kind tend to get kind of anticlimactic at times.

Well, it's definitely not perfect, but I don't think it's bad neither. With just one Bracket, you have one problem with the Grand Final: A) There's an extended series - and extended series just suck. Especially in a grandfinal B) You leave the extended series away and the one from he winners bracket has no advantage in the grandfinal for not losing a single match.
with the two bracktes they avoid both problems: A) There's never the possibility of an extended series in the grandfinal B) Never losing a match gives you a 2:0 advantage in the semi final and nobody's supposed to have an advantage in the grandfinal
