I'd like to know what changed after his 2-0 loss to Flash. He was a different player after that.

skipped the zvz finals... great games other than the pitiful (from T pov) and routine brood/infestor wins in both the semi finals

Life played abnormally bad in his 2-0 loss to Flash

ZvZ is historically Life's best matchup
E-Sports is competitive video gaming with a spectator fan base. Do not take the word "Sports" literally.

The brackets were really bad. I loved watching Oz smoke Leenock, then he had to beat him 2 more times? Same thing happened with Bomber, Naniwa beating Flash. The way guys like Leenock win is by continuing to care even when everybody else stops. The games don't look like two players playing their hearts out, it turns into games where one is just fed up with playing their opponent, making for some incredibly dull matches. It makes sense for a championship to have 7 games, but it was not fair giving Leenock & Life or even Bomber "second" chances. The tournament would have turned out so much more entertaining and I hope you hear me out MLG. You need to consider reformatting in a way that more entertaining players succeed and don't have to rematch that player 30 minutes later. Horrible structure and tournament. This is the reason popularity is dropping in SC2. Nobody wants to see Leenock & MC outlast players. We want to see Flash beat Life and then hold onto that victory. Or even Naniwa taking out Flash. Stop destroying esports MLG, learn how to structure a good tournament. Learn from football or hockey or even baseball. NOBODY WANTS TO SEE PLAYERS PLAY THE SAME DAMN PERSON 30 MINUTES LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the stupidest post I have ever read..

First of all its called a double elimination bracket. It's much more fair than single elimination as it reduced variance. By the way, MLG shouldn't structure the tournament so that more entertaining players succeed, they should structure the tournament so the BETTER player succeeds.

It is much harder for T and P to repeatedly bash against a Z, therefore making a longer BO series favorable for Z always. Random Z cheeses aside, Z can play standard 5 games in a row and merely needs to defend cheesy early/midgame attacks to have the strongest late game compo in the game. Considering the low number of builds that can kill Z before they reach late game, a long BO series in the current balance-state doesn't actually indicate fairness in the tournament format due to the fact that eventually the opponent of the Z needs to play macro at a lategame disadvantage. Although I don't share his rage, I do agree with bloodyrooster that seeing the rematches of the same people can be frustrating for viewers. (eg. Flash vs Life extended series)

Good to see Flash playing so well. Third place for his first foreign tournament is not bad at all.

As a spectator, I really enjoyed this MLG...until the end. A lot great matches. But still some games just looked very ugly from my prospective balance wise.

Coming from the FG community where games are almost never balanced. It's really turns me off, when matches look lopsided because of elements within the design. Speaking for all races here. Needless to say I just skipped the finals.

I have done this for a number of tournaments now. A balanced game is more enjoyable. This game is not balanced. For me this is the biggest reason I am not as invested.

I just recently quit competitive fighting games for similar reasons. It's just not fun. You always want to see the most skilled player win, without any doubts. I can't say that currently.

so... because you thought it was imbalanced... you didnt watch much.... and purposely skipped the finals, that was the only 100% balanced match up, because it was so imbalanceD?

Seriously, wtf...haha. Couldn't have asked for a more nail-biting series than that.

Was not able to watch MLG properly, Looks like Flash played surprisingly well. How did Rain lose to Bomber 0-2? Sad, sad, sad. Really hoped Rain would take 2d or 3d at least.
Still the results are pretty good.
Life is definitely a talented kid.

Are there any vods available?

Life played atrociously in the first series against Flash. Later he admitted in an esfi interview that his "change" in the second series was ... uh, apparently he just decided to start playing his usual game with his usual builds. He definitely looked really off in the first series though.

Bomber vs. Rain was apparently a super-good series. Both played insanely well from what I hear, with lots of heavy aggression from Bomber and a nailbiting ending to the second game. (Didn't see them unfortunately.)

Games are available on Own3d. You need a premium pass to access some of them though.

[Day 3] MLG Dallas ..................................18,644

More than the last two, but still worse than every prior MLG containing Koreans. If I wanted to seriously figure out this pattern, I'd have to look at other day data though. Especially as I get the sense that foreigners have been having a decreasingly large impact on the final day compared to other days, and foreigners often drive post count.

If Flash made the finals, probably hits 12k+ posts. After Flash beat Life in game 1, there were 200+ posts in a minute.

SC2 is dying. Everyone is watching or playing LoL, to simply put it.

I think if we had a LoL thread and forum, there would be more LoL posts. Out of all my friends and I that were watching MLG, only I was watching SC2. The rest was either bouncing back and forth between SC2 and LoL, or watching just LoL.

There is a LoL forum on here that has a thread about MLG. All three days combined for under 4k posts. Of course, this is primarily a Starcraft website, but your anecdotal evidence doesn't really mean anything.

Are you serious?
I don't think Leenock built a single Broodlord in his semi Final. Bomber got crushed by Roaches and please don't tell me Roaches are op in ZvT... They're not!

On the other hand, there's Life who DID build BL/Infestor, but the games were over before that. Zerg just has some difficulty to end a game without those units, even if they have an advantage - and Life completely outclassed Flash and inflicted terrible amounts of damage to Flash before the "unstoppable army" was out.

In fact, not a single map in the semi finals was a "routine Brood/Infestor win" (Ok, maybe one between Life and Flash). Both matches, the Zerg played terribly agressive and just completely destroyed the Terran from early to late game. Nothing to whine about tbh. If the Terran loses everything (army or SCV's... Sometimes both) over and over again before Brood/Infestors are out, you should really not whine about this unit composition.

There might be some Zerg who play terribly boring, but Leenock and Life are definitely not.
