There was only 1 foreigner (naniwa, placed 9th) in the top 16 in dallas, down 2 from the last mlg. I wish they'd do something about the absurdly huge amount of koreans. Like maybe a limit of x players from NA, EU and Asia each. Not trying to be racist, but spectator-wise, it isn't a good thing to have.

I don't understand that mentality, you'd rather see worse people play as long as they are from your region? You'd still have the same outcome in the finals they would just have an easier route there.

thats not a mentality, thats just how the world works otherwise how come people watch their local sport teams instead of watching the Heats, Giants. Barca or what ever top team thats out there.

The level of play is not that important.

Having regional qualifiers which draw a certain amount of players or teams from each region for a tournament is a norm in modern day international competition. For example, UEFA champions league and FIFA world cup.

I dont care what backround a player has, where he does come from, what language he speaks or what ever.. I wanna see the best competition. And when this means that there are only Koreans from the Quarterfinals (or earlier) on its ok for me. If the other players want to compete, they have to train harder or accept their position.

Local teams don't necessarily play at the highest level so it's a bad comparison.

High level play at these tournaments is the most important thing.

I didn´t watch any Heart games. How did he perform in his games? He must have done something right.

Naniwa was really lucky. He beat 2 foreigners, then won against Flash but lost to him in the extended series the next match, then lost to the next Korean. Essentially he only really beat 2 foreigners, and placed 9th due to bracket luck and seeding.

Yeah well, he didn't look himself against Flash, but against Heart he suddenly did.

Grtz to life. I could only watch the first 2 games due to the late hour. Probably became an epic series.
I had a good night of sleep.

But you don't expect those local teams to get far. It's like saying Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France and Brazil should be banned from time to time of the football worldcup so we can watch other teams reaching the top.

The only real problem is how this tournaments don't offer coverage or allow for us to watch ANY match going on. For example many people wanted to see Polt, other Idra, etc etc... so you could really follow the storyline you want to if you really don't want to have a more streamlined experience (MLG was focused on Flash - Rain, even if they weren't the champions).

And I went to bed when the scores were 3-1 thinking leenock would take it ez

I don't get this quota shit. "foreigners" need to work harder or they will be left behind. What do you want for them? autobuild workers? half the energy cost of scan? get better or die trying.

Game one was disgustingly awesome to watch, the infestor placement just outside the tower range was really cool.
