PuMa also did really well for EG at first, winning a few major titles and placing high in other major tournaments, yet look where he is now... To a lesser extent, Fnatic Rain was also pretty successful at first, doing pretty well in MLG, but where is he now? viOlet also hit his peak after leaving Korea, but he's faltered quite a bit as of late.
Maybe the sample size is too small, yet I can't shake off this menacing feeling.
Hopefully our beloved pretender will only improve and do even better as time goes by ;_;

You can't classify these kinds of things. I really only have players I enjoy watching and others I don't really care about. Everything else is just for fun. I think the foreigner vs Korean is silly anyway pick the player you like the most rather than arbitrary labels based on ethnicity.

Puma and Rain are still in Korea, they're just on foreign teams.

For fucks sake, Korean is a nationality.
Discuss "Korean training style" or something if you need to fetishize a small southeast asian country.

IMHO, the citizenship decides, which would mean, that he is´nt. But anyway, he came back to poland like a week or so, so no in any case.

I was referring to PuMa during his stay at the EG Lair and Rain before the Fnatic team house opened, sorry for not including that explicitly >_<

ForGG's performance at Dreamhack Valencia was the best of his entire (sc2) career, if he can keep that up he will be more successful than he ever was in Korea. I wouldn't worry about him.

Well yeah, my point is that the same applies for the players I mentioned above. They too hit their peaks when they were staying abroad, then descended into mediocrity.

Btw Fraer vs Bly is a really good story imo. The online beast Fraer who's finally getting some more offline spotlight vs the veteran in Bly, always consistent but never some one you expect to take down majors, a semi-final for either of them is gonna be a really good boost to them, personally I hope for Fraer as I'd love to see him develop into a tournament winning player. Does anyone know if he's fulltime btw? I figure he must be with the insane amount of cups and stuff he plays in lol.

Right, I agree. We should stop labeling players based on nationality. " Sage is a Korean, beating him is impressive "
Is it really more impressive than beating someone like Sase or Nerchio? In my opinion, no it is not.
" Korean " is a label that is supposed to mean " elite " in Starcraft, why else do we distinguish only South Korean players from the rest of the world?
Sage is not better than a LOT of foreigners ( imo )
