Mkp chose mc because the other options were byun(teammate) and nestea. Also his tvp is pretty good.

Well the Daybreak build is not bad at all but drops were the big counter to it. I think Symbol studied Squirtle a good deal and it showed in that 2nd series big time. I know he could have picked up the idea for drops against Squirtle just based on TSL4 replays. But if MC is going to give it his all for this GSL it should be fun to see what he does against Taeja and Seed vs. Symbol will also be a fun series.

It was a joke Mr. Angry Neckbeard. Squirtle 4 Gated and MC held for the win. Thus, MC won because of 4gate.

They didn't play everyone in the group, because any games against MC for Symbol or MKP for Squirtle would not have mattered to the latter players. They could just 4gate/2rax each game and the results wouldn't have mattered to them. Head-to-head doesn't count more than overall record. The system isn't the best without having more games, but it ensures that no "pointless games" are played.

This is why I love Starcraft 2. Some strategy seems so overpowered for awhile and then it takes a bit to figure out the counter. Over and over and over. People can't just rely on the exact same builds everytime because a weakness or counter will be found.

It felt like Squirtle was the one who had Symbol figured out, but he planned on advancing out 2-0 (or Symbol being taken out by MC/MKP) and so had no other strategies left for their 2nd Best of 3.

Extended series is like the worst idea in any format ever. If you end up facing the same opponent, why should previous score matter, for simply that tournament? Why would you have to win more games depending on what opponent you face? It's such a joke, I'm terribly glad GSL doesn't use it.

On the Daybreak game, Squirtle should have just quit it with the mind games and just have gone for it. Delaying the third spending all that money on the 8 gates, upgrades, robo, etc just screws you over with that later third. At least if he goes for it he's playing against the standard Roach max which he's probably seen a thousand times by now and can micro against it... On the Entombed game, he cancels the third, but has less gateways and units?? I don't know what he expected there. Such a shame, because he destroyed Symbol in the first set of games.
