I consider him a top5 player but really, he has only just started to do really well in offline events these past couple months.

Well did you see how much Yoda choked though? If he had his timings right and played a little bit better then Taeja wouldnt have had his way with him like he did.

In his current form I'd say he most certainly is either the best or one of the top 2-3 players in the world.

Not really sure what exactly you're trying to say. He's outplaying all of those guys at the moment, it's a matter of whether he keeps it up. Taeja doesn't play particularly drop-heavy anyway, he delays tanks and is more aggressive with a bio ball in TvZ, that he often keeps together, only indulging in drop play if his opponent is way out of position. Taeja also isn't known for his builds being good, he's known for playing the games out well, engaging well and making decisions on the fly.

Have you not seen him speak to the TL players after every game? he immediately leaves his seat to speak to his team and take advice / criticism from them. Do you think taeja would have won had he played from game one of the 2nd b09? sure, TL were just "cannon fodder" in your eyes but zenio took a game which everyone bet against, Hero hasnt even played, who is probably their 2nd best bet at winning this thing. They put themselves in the line of fire so taeja could get the much needed rest so he could come out and wreck faces again, his exhaustion is showing with the younghwa game. (epic micro btfw WAOW) how do you think he will fair now? theres a reason he was sent out 4th this time with Hero as backup. Teamliquid are supporting him every step of the way, wether it be inspirational support, tactics / strategy advice / cannon foddering so he can have more time to recover, whatever. Its a team effort. In all team games, you have a star player, but they cant win it alone (most of the time) - for example my FPS team has a fucking beast of a sniper, but he cant win it without the rusher calling locations, the team locking locations down, taking players out and allowing him to scout regular locations and take them out too. Alone, he would be located and fucked in the butthole, its much the same for taeja IMO.

What ive seen from TaeJa within the last month thrills me and makes me think that this game might work after all. TaeJa might or might not be the best player yet in SC2. He's not good enough to be crushing high level players left and right making it look easy like some of the other dominant players we have had, like MarineKing, MC, NesTea etc. TaeJa seems to play long razor edge game after game and he somehow comes out on top time after time. This is much more a sign of a dominant player then a guy just overrunning guy after guy for a while!! This is so exciting!! You do not see TaeJa drop any easy games at all. Im yet to see that happen more then within reasonable exception-range. Beeing able to play and extend games to win with small margin is the way to beat good players. You're not supposed to be looking to trick a good oponent consistantly (Yea youre going to from time to time.) but rather trying to find this small edge that TaeJa seem to be able too eak out within his games, that is the true solid overall most skillfull ability within Starcraft 2. This is what we had in Brood War high level games all the time! I'd like to say TaeJa is by far the most skillfull and dominant player yet in SC2 (imo.) and I hope this is how we see our champions geting their wins in the future!
