I dont know if any of the other players will provide enough opposition to take down dragon... But seriously though. I cannot believe dragon is getting attacked like he is. just from watching his stream for 15 minutes you can see the dedication and concentration that he puts forth, not only to improve and practice well, but also to please his numerous fans who like him for a reason. WE LOVE Dragon! And we believe in him and we think that he will have SUSSESS in this tournament! I struggle to think of players who deserve these opportunities and this exposure more than him. Give him a chance to succeed! DRAGON FIGHTING!

Just another possibility

Dragon is hard working and both a great player and a great guy. I have often had tears of laughter whilst both watching his stream and talking with the homofamily in his chat. The whole community behind dragon is amazing and it is because we love dragon and we love his play style that we all believe with practice he has the potential to be truely great, as he has shown with the people he beats regularly on EU NA and KR. This guy was #1 on NA GM... he recently beat TOD in MSI #7 making it further in the tournament further than many established pros. So whilst dragon may be backed by many fans and have a lot of support this is for a reason and not because he is a pure troll. This guy has potential and im glad to see that his recent invites to tournaments will hopefully allow him to fullfill this.

Please get some funny clips of dragon at the event :D !

I do anticipate this tournament, I love the highlight of the CSL, brilliant and they deserve it. The player list works and there are a handful of story lines that I cant wait to see play out.

To all who disagree about Dragons invitation.
I can just say :" Both in maths and in life, its never too late to correct known mistakes" Let the past "go to rest" and look forward for him please. He definitely deserve it. I watched Dragon from the beginning and i can say, that i like his personality and playstyle. I also dont understand why only Gamers with big Names are supposed to be on the invitation list? imo there are a lot of good gamers in the world, who haven't played on big tournaments yet.
Dragon is well known for his creative playstyle and this would improve the offline tournament a bit, by not always seeing the same standard openings.
Just give Dragon the chance to prove you and even himself. I would appreciate it.

Why is the SC2 community so freakin spoiled nowadays? All I see from a lot of the community is question the validity of a "mid-tier pro" in an invitational tournament. "Man, they invited Dragon?? pshhh what a waste" Are you listening to yourself? Who the crap cares and complains that an invitee is not Nestea/MVP level? This is an INVITATIONAL tournament, it's not some grand tournament that invites all the prestigious players or a clash of titans like GSL.
It's a tournament primarily made for the fans. A lot of these players have a pretty huge fanbase and while obviously the players are gonna duke it out to be the best that day, it's still targeted for the fans. This is an organization built by college students who want to establish a solid SC2 community in Austin and other neighboring cities in Texas. Please stop belittling TeSPA's tournament when a tournament of this scale established by a university is essentially unprecedented.

I have been watching Dragon for about 3 - 4 months now and can say that he is an incredibly hard working player who often plays more than 10 hours straight multiple days in a row just to try and improve, which he has massively.
He also has the most dedicated fan base I have ever seen, partly because he is very interactive with his audience and always keeps us amused but also because he is a very talented player that has a very unique style of playing the game and no two games are the same with him. His fans are that dedicated to him that you can often find us in the chat even if Dragon is not online, I cannot say the same for many other streamers.
Regarding the controversy of his past, It was 2010 and he has apologised for it and has had to work his way back up from scratch.
But thanks for inviting him and I know me and a lot of other Dragon fans will now watch this tournament. Dragon fighting.

Haters are retarded. Dragon fighting!

I am glad that Dragon got invited. He is such a great person and talented player.
Watching his stream is always well spent time. You can see sometimes troll games, have fun, laugh with all viewers. But the other day he is playing in a tournament such as Playhem daily or MSI Cup, where he leaves his heart in every game. And yes, he can success. Wining in KR ladder with well known, good players. Achieving #1 NA GM.
And if he wins or not - it is such a pleasure to just support him and be with him in these days. There is a reason he has many fans. And we are all proud of us and him in the first place. You can of course say he is not top sc2 player. But we believe in him. He can do it

I have mixed feelings of Dragon accepting the invite from Playhem, as he has stated he will "never dream of other tournaments, televised matches, or pursue a career as a pro-gamer." That quote specifically boggles my mind. I'm not saying I lost respect for Dragon, but I just wish he gave an announcement or something to tell us that he is indeed considering to come back into the SC2 scene. Maybe he's trying to be more of an entertainer than a player? =S

Go Dragon ! He has crazy tactics, big personnality, dedication for his fans and has big potential as well. He's also the only streamer who makes me happy when I watch him ! I laughed so many time in real watching him play. He's a guy who really understood that good streaming is more than just playing games against pros.

YES! soo happy dragon is invited! He's got the coolest personality in the whole SC2 community! and the most wicked playstyle! DRAGON FIGHTING!

Heads up to anyone coming to Austin for this tournament and thinks they can also enjoy SXSW with ease: RSVP your fucking heart out. Unless you have a platinum badge (really expensive pass that primarily goes to insiders), then you won't be let into any of the parties or events unless you RSVP to them individually. do512.com has most of them listed for you to RSVP to. There is also a service called rsvpster that will do the work for you and +1.
For those that do not know, SXSW is the largest music festival in the world. Last year there was a reported 400,000 people that descended upon Austin, TX for the festival. Yeah, parking sucked during those 2 weeks... I hope to see everyone at the after parties! peace
