Don't worry, HuK is very popular with NA people, not surprised I'm getting flak for giving a very valid and more than likely accurate opinion (from what is visible at least, again, none of us know what he does behind closed doors).
HuK took roughly a month of vacation. Even BW progamers do this. It was the first month he had since beta where he wasn't practicing 8+ hours a day. The games were dumb too, crossfire is a joke and he got allined on belshir. He will be back soon.

This, guy's a good player and he'll be back. Game 3 wasn't really anything to do with whatever shape he was in practice wise, he didn't get the scout off and got all-inned. Happens
Sad to see the amount of bashing in this thread, but then some people do seem to enjoy bashing foreigners who try to play in the GSL.

I don't think there's anyone who frequents this site who enjoys bashing foreigners in GSL.

GOM, pls give Sase or Naniwa next season's Code S spot. Sase beat forgg 2-0 in FXO Invitational! Good game.
Glad forgg made it through!
Speaking of Sase, is he playing Code A this season? I heard the casters mention MacSed as being in the tournament, and I know that's the account he plays on in Korea, but MacSed himself is also a pretty good player so not sure what's going on there!
Macsed and xigua got given Chinese seeds and sase didn't qualify for this season.
Huk worked hard while he was in liquid, but now that he's got the sweet fat contract from EG, he's resting on his laurels and playing LoL with Mia Rose instead. He knows that it doesn't matter if he doesn't do well in GSL, because EG will still fly him to every foreign tournament and doing well or not doing well in GSL doesn't affect a foreigner's popularity in the foreign scene.
Foreign scene popularity is more about image and marketing, rather than results. Plus you can't deny EG has the best marketing in the foreign scene. Huk probably doesn't care he's out of GSL as now it's a longer break for him until the next foreign tournament.

Now that statement is just incorrect. Huk won MLG Orlando while on EG, and also reached the RO8 in GSL while on EG. The idea that EG just cares about image and marketing and not results is clearly incorrect, otherwise they would not have picked up Puma and JYP, both of whom barely speak English. Huk knows that he has to perform on EG, otherwise he will end up going the way of Axslav and Strifecro.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on this. It's not the posters who make legitimate criticisms, but every time the foreigners lose there are people who post with a palpable sense of glee.
Just watching the rest of the games here, just quite a bad day in general from what I've seen in terms of the games most of the sets I've seen thus far have been one-sided stomps. Any matches anyone here would recommend?
@Canucklehead, may well be true, I for one hope this isn't the case and Huk will get back that work ethic that was renowned among the foreign scene.

The difference is you usually take a vacation in the off-season, not when you have a VERY IMPORTANT match to play

Huk has apparently had some sort of issue training lately. Saw it in another thread. He wants to win and hsa the desire. If you doubt that you are either trolling or ignorant.

I will agree that for koreans on EG, it's more about results because they are less marketable due to the language barrier. However, both puma and jyp don't have great gsl results, with puma having none and jyp just recently getting code s. They don't need great GSL results either, as long as they perform well in foreign tournaments.
Huk has to perform, but you can't compare him to axslav and strifecro because neither were even close to as popular as huk. Once a foreigner establishes himself as a popular player, it's pretty hard to lose that fanbase, so at that point all huk has to do is just do decent at foreign tourneys and he's safe from being cut from EG because his populairty is so high. Same goes for Idra. The results of those two don't really matter, because foreigners will still tune in to watch either way, regardless if they win or not. They just always want to see them play. Their future salaries could be lowered, but I don't ever see EG cutting those two unless they themselves choose to go to another team because their popularity is too high.
The funny thing about huk is when he was on liquid he got so much hate and got so much flak for his top 3 control comment. In every live thread back then almost everybody was hating on huk and making top 3 control jokes and bashing him for his ego. Then he joined EG, and his popularity somehow rose and everyone loved him. Now, I'm not sure if his popularity was on the rise anyways towards the end of his liquid days with the dreamhack/homestory wins as I did see him getting more love in threads or was it due to the EG marketing machine.

Try to think about it in context of all the foreign tourneys that he had played in being much more important than this code A match. The prestige is important as is the possibility to make it to Code S, but all of the other tournaments had more tangible, important rewards ($$$). After flying back and forth all the time he was due for a break.
Now, if only I went with my instinct on Clide losing (damn you Sniper for having played so few games!) then I'd be tied for 1st with a few others... ><

I went from 500-600 all the way up to 20. I'm pretty pleased.
Called Clide vs. Sniper wrong just like you. Sigh.
